At least Pozo doesn't have a broken bone according to the OS.

Good news, he sounds like he's impressing at 16.

Be interested to see the shape today, looking at the team sheet it seems like it's 5 defenders (inc keeper) and 6 attackers. No wonder we don't get results.

We had a "normal" back 4 with Facey and Leigh as full backs and Plummer and Boyata as centre backs.Huws was the holding midfield player.

Guidetti of course played as the main striker and Pozo I suppose playing off him but Pozo's role is usually very fluid taking him where he wants. There are times when he drifts to the left side as he loves to cut in from there to create or take a shot.

Then we have the other 3 being Rusnak,Lopes and Suarez. Rusnak probably more a wide right player ( not a winger )Suarez operates mostly as an inside left and Lopes as an inside right if that makes sense.

But within all that there is a danger the balance of the team isn't perfect. We do have 5 attacking players and the 3 playmakers are not even close to natural defenders when called upon to get back. They do get back at times but whether they offer any real defensive cover is debatable.

The goals conceded today were probably more down to poor defending and miss tackles by real defenders than with the midfield.Although Bytyqi did give the ball away badly for the 2nd one and Leigh was left very exposed for the first one.

2 nil win for the u18's against the Gooners.

Good win that but the team was much stronger than in recent weeks. Ones in bold are EDS players.

Gunn, Horsfield, Bossaerts, Adarabioyo, Marin, Glendon, Bytyqi (Hardy), Ntcham, Barker (Byrne), Trialist, McHale.

Anyone know who the trialist was? Was it that portugese defensive mid that has been banded about?

City under-18s completed the double over Arsenal with a 2-0 win at Colney on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Mathias Bossaerts and Olivier Ntcham fired Adam Sadler's men to a first win in four games and their second over Arsenal following the 4-1 triumph back in February.

Sadler was able to select a few regular members of the Elite Development Squad, including under-17 internationals in French midfielder Ntcham and Belgian defender Bossaerts.

There were also starts for under-18 regulars George Glendon, Dominic McHale and Brandon Barker.

It was a slow start to the game with only a couple of half-chances threatening to break the deadlock in the early stages.

A spell of Arsenal dominance followed where the home side began to look dangerous, forcing a good save from Angus Gunn and hitting the post.

This period was ended abruptly when Ntcham opened the scoring after unleashing a powerful left-footed strike from the edge of the box which followed some neat build-up play around the box.

City started the second half brightly, with Barker and McHale both having chances to double their advantage but when the second goal came it was in controversial circumstances.

There was nothing wrong with Bossaerts’ excellent glancing header after he had done well to get across his man at the front post but Arsenal could perhaps consider themselves unfortunate that the linesman flagged for a goal when it looked like the Gunners defender had cleared off the line.

Unfortunately for the North Londoners, there are no plans for goal-line technology to be introduced at this level of football in the immediate future!

After this thorny incident the game became stop-start but with City dominating possession and carving out one or two half-chances.

George Glendon and Ntcham were pulling the strings in the centre of midfield, Dom McHale was causing problems with his electric pace and tight ball control and the back four, led by Bossaerts, defended manfully to see out the game.

City u18s are next in action away at Blackburn Rovers next Saturday morning.

U18s have a real chance of qualifying now unlike the U21s. Only 1 team can go through from Group 2 but they're up there.

A little bit stronger maybe but not a lot.Good result that one

Denis Suarez to be promoted to the first team next season? According to the Sun/Metro he will. Hopefully he's loaned out for at least two months (depending on League Cup progression), no point having him in the first team but stuck in limbo like Razak has been this season.

Mancini has already signed up midfielder Yaya Toure to a new contract, and it appears Aguero will be the latest big name to be secured as the Italian plots a title push next season.

Kolo Toure, who was out-of-favour earlier in the season, may also be offered fresh terms according to The Sun, while young playmaker Denis Suarez is set to be promoted to the first team.

Purely based on the picture of the guy who wrote the report I think I will ignore the entire content. He's from the muppets isn't he?

No way Suarez will be a serious member of the first team squad next season.

Hahaha, I didn't notice it was him. He really needs to change that pic, looks like a mugshot.

Maybe not serious but I could see him having a role to Razak has this season - which is pointless. However, you never know, he is moving into the final year of his contract, Txiki and co. may want to play him in a couple of small games (i.e League Cup) see what he is made of then loan him out to Feyernoord or Espanyol. Razak has found it more difficult because there are four players in his position.

I haven't watched him play but from Inside City and match highlights, he is stylistically the closest City have to Silva in the academy and I still think he has a fair chance at being successful despite what others have said. He is still a talented player but he's fed up of EDS football.
