Rekik recovered well after giving away a soft penalty in the first half, Rusnak looked very nervous and Hughes looks like he will have a decent career in the lower leagues.

Rusnak was fantastic & Boyata did very well with passing and a clearance when he came on but Hart is shite :)

There was no foul imo

I agree no foul on Rekik, plus he recovered well in the second half. I think Rusnak was easily the best young player from who played yesterday. He made a few really good tackles and kept the ball moving with decent one touch passes.

I thought he was more a attacking mid? he played more like a box to box, he covered well for Zab when he pushed forward also. He impressed me alot yesterday. Huws looked a bit lost.

Rusnak is an attacking midfielder but he did do a hell of a lot of work when Zaba went flying forward.

I though Rekik played well, was never a penalty imo. His confidence could have been shattered after that happened though but he just carried on and showed some ability on the ball which is good.

Rusnak worked his arse off and was trying to make an impression. In the second half he got a little more of the ball before going off... he is quite composed on the ball but very green and needs a few years in the loan system probably before seeing what level he'll end up at.

Huws had a horror start in his first appearance and made mistakes but calmed down and broke up play at some crucial moments including leading to our great counter attacking goal (Milner to Dzeko).

Huws also made the block that led to the equaliser. Was surprised to see him lacking composure, thats normally one of his strengths in the EDS. Can't be easy being subbed on in this sort of game though.

Rekik did alright although he didn't actually have much defending to do. Never saw any footage of him at Blackburn but apparently he was dreadful

I think both City and Blackburn are/were making a mistake in trying to turn him into a left-back. He looks a lot more natural in the middle to me.

None of the seniors wanted to pass to Rusnak though. :(

He's looked quite tidy the 3 or 4 times he's been allowed the ball.

He looks to play the "City" way and he does have the ability but he misplaced a few too many short passes which you just shouldn't and can't afford to do as it gives breakaway chances when we are heavily committed forwards.

But it's his first opportunity and he did ok so anyone who thinks he or one of the others was "fantastic" is just going a bit OTT.I expect the 3 will get some chance again tonight so more to look forward to.

Interesting comment by Tommy Martin, one of United's academy coaches here. Sounds a bit bittoh. :D

“Absolutely. That was also very important for the development. So we could see that more and more we asserted ourselves here. It was also very nice to return to Manchester and be able to say we won second place. This wasn’t always the case. We haven’t always performed this well. Let’s not be hypocritical about it. But when you talk about highlights I always enjoy the players you see here. Nathan Aké for example. Now a player at Chelsea, but you saw immediately that he was destined for something bigger. Just like Real Madrids striker. Pozo (José Angel Pozo La Rosa, red.) he was called I believe. Immediately on my return to Manchester I recommended him. Right after this he went to Manchester City. That’s how things go here. We spot one, City takes him, haha.”
