Was great to see two young lads get a chance in the St Louis game, meanwhile in Hong Kong.

City will take on Glasgow Rangers in the Citibank Hong Kong 7s on Sunday.

The Blues drew 1-1 with 1-1 Yau Yee Select in the opening game with Bossaerts grabbing City's goal.

Then goals from Horsfield (2), Lema ad Glendeon (2) secured a 5-0 win over Singapore Cricket Club and City secured the group with a 2-0 win over Sunderland with Byrne and Glendon on the scoresheet.

City now face Glasgow Rangers in the quarter-final on Sunday. Watch mcfc.co.uk for all the latest details.

Can't claim to know them, but two guys from my old club Swiss XI actually played against the City youth on Saturday for the Yau Yee League Select. I played for the Swiss in 2004-2006. I can say that I was this close to playing for (or against) City!

Wabara going to Leeds to replace Byram is the gossip among Leeds fans and Wabara is retweeting stuff about it on Twitter (mostly people saying they hope it's a loan as he's too good to be sold...). Could this be some sort of cash-plus-player deal?

Heard nothing but good things about Byram. Leeds fans sound like they'll be devastated if he leaves.

Soundly beaten by Rangers in the QFinal and I don't consider them to be Elite at this or any other level.

Paddy V taking over can't come soon enough. I can't think of too many good stories coming out of the youth setup....

according to the website we had the youngest squad in the tournament. Makes a big difference at that age playing as 17 year olds in a U21 tournament. Newcastle included Sammy Ameobi, he's an England U21 international!

Wabara really isn't good enough for Leeds IMO,we would almost certainly be getting the better deal,especially if we sell him.

Agreed, I like Wabara but seems to have stalled the last few years so would snap Leeds hand off for Wabara + cash for Byram.

Wow, thats now 3 new Vieiras.... just at city alone!

How many of these kind of signings is too many? Don't want a situation where some of our hot prospects lose out on game time because there is too much competition. Although I'm sure several of this years EDS won't be there next season - Lopes and Suarez for example I would expect to go on loan

I believe it was Sporting Gijon that Garcia came from.

Have we given up on signing English kids 16 and above? Most of our targets seem to be foreign. Have the likes of Henshall and Hutton (so far) failing to live up to early hype soured us on poaching domestic talent above a certain age?
