The attitude shown last season from some of our youngsters is a bit concerning, whether it is from Gabriel Fernando's latest tweets, to the Rags celebrating their title win whilst on our books. Fingers crossed it will about to change for the better.
Unfortunately this is so true. damn, what i wouldn't give to be in one of their places. What are they missing, i mean cmon. That's my dream!LoveCity said:Some of the young academy lads and their first world problems are unbearable... had to unfollow a bunch of them on Twitter. If they're growing up such prima donnas it's no surprise our success rate is so low. Some of them are like "Oh fook, I'm so tired having to wake up at 7am to live my dream for one of the top clubs in England, earning more money than most other teenagers in the world. Please pity me."
Been sayin this for years... should be a proper apprenticeship again. Never ever gonna happen now though, gone too far with player power.spinzer said:Unfortunately this is so true. damn, what i wouldn't give to be in one of their places. Clubs should bring the old system back where youngsters would clean up the places and do different houseroles around the club, so they could remove that primadonna attitude, and it would make them more of a hardworker. But then we wouldnt be able to attract exotic youngsters... fuck me
Yeah its a shame really.. but hey, lets hope for the best. Surely not all the youth players will get carried away and have a primadonna attitude..The Man With The Stick said:Been sayin this for years... should be a proper apprenticeship again. Which players is that? i have yet to se a very promising player in the premier league. Their youth team is full of class players tho, and they have the highest paid youth player on their team.Cheadle_hulmeBlue said:Im hoping over the next few years that atleast half of our team will be home grown and from the academy. Hopefully lots of talented english players.
The investment will work, you only have to look at chelsea, they invested in their academy and they are now producing very talented players. Hopefully ours will get a chance though. Very exciting times
