Far from impressed with the way our youth set up is. Promising players seem to have either gone backwards or their development has just stagnated and it looks unlikely that we'll have any player make the step up within the next few years.

Manages the U21s. Mancini wanted to bridge the gap between EDS and first team by having one of his men there but I'm not sure Lombardo is the right man.

I'm actually surprised the Spaniards haven't brought in any of their own yet, there are quite a few renowned Spanish youth coaches/overseers and some have been linked with us. I thought we might make a move for Pep Segura who quit Liverpool after doing a good job improving their bad youth system, and helped develop Iniesta, Fabregas, etc., in Barca's youth system.

Manages the U21s. Mancini wanted to bridge the gap between EDS and first team by having one of his men there but I'm not sure Lombardo is the right man.

I'm actually surprised the Spaniards haven't brought in any of their own yet, there are quite a few renowned Spanish youth coaches/overseers and some have been linked with us. I thought we might make a move for Pep Segura who quit Liverpool after doing a good job improving their bad youth system, and helped develop Iniesta, Fabregas, etc., in Barca's youth system.

He will hopefully be part of the summer reshuffle,'jobs for the boys' shouldnt be happening as it would be one hell of a coincidence if his mates were also the best in the business.

I hope that getting the right personnel and structure in place is something that will be prominent in Txiki's thinking right now. He only arrived at the end of October and mid-season isn't the ideal time to make changes anyway, so I really hope that we'll see some movement in the summer.

We also need some kind of coherent strategy as to which players we loan out, where and for how long. I'm overseas and can't really follow the reserves/youth now like I used to when I was based in Manchester, but it seems to me from what others say that one or two - such as Suarez - have stagnated by not being sent out to give them more competitive football than they experience in the EDS.
