After a long weekend with many competitions is the final there again! In a nail-biting finale defeated Manchester City off the traveled from AZ Alkmaar 1-2. After a flying start from Manchester City was the ball within 1 minute already in the net of AZ (0-1). The citizens had not yet run its and found out that the finale was going to be no walkover. AZ Alkmaar squared his shoulders and repaired the damage within 5 minutes (1-1). This was the halftime score.
The second half was much like the first half exciting. The goal could fall on both sides, but Manchester City finally shot the 1-2. The rest of the game was mostly AZ Alkmaar which was attacking and a number of times, with good football, dangerous for the goal came. Manchester City came sporadically still a number of times with the rapid forefront, but good defending from the Alkmaar ensured that the score remained at 1-2. With that result if the cup in the air for Manchester City and they were crowned champions of the United Youth Cup 2013!

Top scorer in the tournament with eight goals was City striker Henri Ogunby whilst John Hilton of City was also voted player of the tournament

City progressed to the final by winning Group D beating FC Twente(4-2),Nec/FC Oss(3-2) and KRC Genk(3-0), In the quarter finals they saw off Borussia Monchengladbach(3-2) before destroying Red Bull Salzburg (6-1) in the semis to set up a final with AZ Alkmaar.

Was Vlad Marin released? Twitter I know but Juventus fans on there believe that he's joining their reserves on a free.

The player himself just retweeted "I've heard that you're coming to Turin".

Just done some Twitter searching and you seem to be right. Bloody hell, has he flopped so badly here? We paid a fair bit of money for him not long ago.

Update: Work permit problems according to Tutto Juve.
Ahh, perhaps explains our increased interest in Abner. They are both attacking left-backs aren't they?

Yup - but I wonder if we will have the same WP issues with Abner. Also, I wonder why would couldn't have tried farming Marin out... maybe he wasn't worth it, I've heard at least one youth watcher say we have better left-backs. Another £300k down the drain, though it's just pennies for City.

Here's the Marin story anyway: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tuttojuve.com/primo-piano/esclusiva-tj-grande-colpo-a-parametro-zero-per-la-primavera-preso-marin-dal-city-153566" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tuttojuve.com/primo-piano/es ... ity-153566</a>

Interesting too that the U13 squad contains a Rekik, Pozo and Rosler!

When we signed Rekik I know there were rumors that his brother was part of the deal. Looks like Pozo was as well!

And Colin Rosler is Uwe's lad, named after Colin Bell, with his other lad being named after Tony Book. True Blue!

So it looks like another youngster has gone, more about work permit I think. Not sure City could of done anything but more money down the drain! If City felt he was worth fighting for, assume they would of let him go on loan somewhere, it just worries me, chasing all these youngsters in the past, putting in alot of work with them and simply letting them go. Out of the 3 that have gone in the past few weeks, it is a shame that both Suarez and Marin have gone. I wonder who might be next! Even the player they might be after from Brazil might not get a visa, so would have to go on loan anyway potentially.

Here is to the 'holistic' approach, buy buy buy and allow the younger plays to leave! Kidding, hope this changes in the future!!
