The official "We don't want Wayne Rooney" thread.

Surprised at you, GStar.

All players kiss badges, it's meaningless. How many badges has Carlos Tevez kissed in the past?

Rooney would make us the best team in the premier league, as well as opening the floodgates for other world stars. You should rise above petty fan stuff like that.

All that matters is how he plays. He wouldn't be the same player without his petulance and aggression.

It goes beyond that though, in the press before every derby either mocking our shiteness or reminding us we've "done nothing yet", taking every oppourtunity to take the piss out of us whilst he's on the pitch.

I'm not sure i want to rise above it, i'm of the opinion that, as much as i hate utd in derby week, it's my most anticipated game... hatred is a strong word, but as a City fan, Utd are my pantomime villian.

As entertainment, what starts happening when we buy our most hated players and turn them into heros? It doesn't sit quite right with me, Tevez was a different situation, but this one is a weird one.

No doubt i feel some form of excitement at seeing the prospect of someone of that talent play for City, but i've already lost some of the buzz (but gained a decent football team) buying Rooney and hearing everyone sing his name, for me, would go against almost everything we as fans have preached for the last however many decades.

I don't remember him saying anything unusual in the press, but if he did say "City haven't done anything yet" then he was right, quite honestly.

I don't give a flying one about shite like that, I care about Manchester City. And if we've got a change of getting one of the best players in the world we would be mad to turn it down.

And, by the way, I don't have a shadow of a doubt that that is how everyone in power at our club will see it.

So he gave the finger to one of our fans once? Diddums. I'd rather have a player like that than one who goes hiding when under pressure. Eyal Bercovic once did a throat cutting gesture to one of our fans. And the follwing week he destroyed Man Utd.

No they weren't.

There was actually a thread on "Would youhave him at City" and I posted "In a heartbeat". As did quite a few others.

What will be pathetic is is he signs and all the petty ABUs will be chanting "Rooney" despite posting shit like is on this thread.

White Pele. And to think he was being compared with Messi, yeah right!
absolute garbage- needs to be dropped...
couldnt give a shit who the fat wanker plays for or how "good" he was, end of the day we need goals, and with his personal life ruining his football we aint gunna get them, id personally start Defoe before him!
one word
OVER-RATED
He will score a hat-trick against West Brom at weekend, and the illusion will continue for a little while longer yet.

It will all be ra-ra-ra - Rooney is back.

Because there are plenty of people who can't bring themselves to acknowledge that it is six years since he did anything for England.

He has lived off Euro 2004 forever.

WAS a great talent...but so were plenty of others.

Flat-track bully.
he is shit. lets hope he stays playing like this for the scum.

and this was what... 12th october? lol

I'm sure if we looked there's articles before pretty much every derby... and its not the point if he's "right", he's doing it to get a reaction; to take the piss. Not to be a diplomat.

I'm also not anyone with power at City, as if i was, i'd probably be trying to get him too. I'm a fan, and i beleive caring about City is more than winning every single game by whatever means necessarry. If that was the case i'd have moved from supporting Utd, to Chelsea, on to Barca and currently contemplating supporting Real before eventually becoming a City fan.

Again, i'm not 100% made up either side, i just know it doesn't sit quite right. There's more to City than winning every game for me, it how we conduct ourselves also.

Just got sent this SMS off a mate PMSL hope its not been posted yet

You really aren't reading/listening are you. This is not ABU and most posters have said so.

This is about the person and the player in question and not about the club he is coming from. Most of us are above that.

Besides most of you wanking off over the chav poster boy seem more concerned about what it would do to the rags rather than what it would actually do for City.

Would I want Rooney the player if that was all he was? Possibly although I am far from convinced that he will regain his form of last season and remain injury free.

Do I want Wayne Rooney the suspect personality with all the medja shenanigans and off-field brothel antics and all the celebrity bollox that go with the player. Do I want so see City splash so much cash on such a potential all-round liability at this time when City are already in second place in the league with Balo to come back and with the future already bright? No thanks. No need. Not bothered.

Nowt to do with ABU. I'd take Vidic in a heartbeat if Bobby wanted him.
