Well, that would be the norm in thinking, BUT there is an oligarch down the road that, apparently, will "match" whatever we throw at him. This equals a bidding war that we would be foolish to entertain beyond a certain point.

I cannot see us being so stupid.

However, whilst the Scum may accept that bid, he may not if we're basing this on local amenities!

But, I believe other factors come heavily into play here and although we are 'local', the lure of a new life and playing in a team FULL of world class players abroad where plenty of English is spoken has to be highly desirable!!

I'll take the words of Billy and Tolm; they're obviously connected to some people much more privvy to information than ourselves.

We might have made initial contact, we may well have turned his head and created this... even if we have i'd think we're a long way from finalising a deal.

The stumbling block would be any negotiations with Utd and the willing of any third parties for Utd to use as leverage.

I can't see Rooney moving abroad; i read about Coleen and her 'brand' wanting to stay in England and her wanting to stay local for her ill sister.

The size of this bust up suggests there's already a nice big security blanket for Rooney to fall into, i think it's probably being held by Garry Cook.
