Well Bobby Manc has said this morning that we're NOT interested. Who else do you need to hear it from?

And we are dreaming big, seeing big, etc etc etc. I don't buy this argument that if we don't want Rooney then we don't want or won't get success. We already have big name players and we will get more, whether or not he is one of them.

No you're not.

Rooney is a much bigger name than any we have. Much bigger.

He would advance "The Project" by light years.

I cannot understand how some of you can't see that.

But you will...

I have been keeping myself busy for a while as I fear I may explode with frustration, anger and more than a little disappointment.

I am disappointed with a lot of Blues over this and it seems that there isnt really a 'type' of Blue who is coming out against him signing, which is unusual.

Its not the young uns or old uns or season ticket holders or never get to gamers. Its a mix of all of 'em saying 'no i dont want him'.

But it seems to me we now have a fully formed litmus test for football sanity.

Anyone who says they dont want him here will likely not be the type of fan that I and other with a contrary opinion will ever be happy together.

I want BIG things from City, I want BIG success, BIG finals, BIG crowds in a BIG stadium sat in the middle of a BIG developed East Manchester.

I want us to feel BIG, see BIG and dream BIG.

Anyone who doesn't wan't Rooney as a footballer playing for City is, in my humble opinion a ickle City fan, or if you rearrange those words it becomes clearer, a fan of an ickle City!

am i on the right thread fbloke?

seriously mate i dont want rooney because i think hes ever so slightly unhinged (sorry for the use of your word BB2.0).

old roo could be ready to lose it mentally, and i dont want us to have to pick up the pieces.

Possibly the biggest load of crap you've written on here.

Oh shut up you patronising twat. How fucking dare you suggest that because people don't want Rooney they also don't want success.
You post some shit on here but that post has the biggest smell of all.

Perhaps you have missed the point that I made.

I have highlighted the relevant bit and quote it here 'Anyone who doesn't wan't Rooney as a footballer playing for City' - I make a very clear distinction between him as a footballer and him as a person.

I have said a few times since the news broke that I feel less than happy with him as a person.

That is why I hoped that making the 'footballer' comment would keep it to that element.

I dont have a problem with the badge kissing and City have done nothing yet stuff thats just an extension of football banter.

I personally have issues with him as a person but I have to accept that others who will know more than us on here will weigh up the pro's and cons and make the right decision.

But as I said, as a footballer you must be mad to say no.

I think its wrong to caracterize those of us who don't want Rooney as being liddle cityites or whatever the phrase is.

I want City to win at least 4 Champions Leagues in the next fifteen years. I also want us to make inroads on Uniteds 18 titles. I also happen to think we can buy better players than Rooney. In my opinion he is finished as a top class player. He is very bulky and in a couple of years he will be slow. Think Robbie Fowler. Boy genius but totally useless after the age of 26. Owen, different physique, but again fantastic kid, useless adult. Rooney actually debuted at a younger age than either of these.

If we are serious about world domination, as many of the pro Rooney brigade are, we would be better served getting going for Iniesta, Fabregas and Torres.

A "BIG" round of applause from me ,Fbloke
Load of shit really. Just because people don't want Rooney doesn't mean they don't want City to be a big club. The line has to be drawn somewhere, that line happens to be drawn right across shrek's forehead. Go and ask an Evertonian if they'd pay a mega fee to have him back, see what reaction you get.

Typical straw man idiocy that I'm coming to expect from a select bunch of numpties in this thread.

Incest is more appealing to me than Wayne Rooney playing for Manchester City.

Fuck off Wayne, you fucking gangrenous haemorrhoid.

Oh right, because you tell me I don't want success for City, or I'm not "dreaming big" then obviously that means it's true.
Forgive me if I don't take you too seriously, but I seem to remember you once saying 'Ireland leaving - absolute disaster.'
