i see hes got 20 years and 51 men found guilty.some of them claiming it was a swinger site so didnt think they were doing anything wrong.i mean if you went to a house for sex but the women was unconcious i think it would set off alarm bells.

Just watching the scenes outside the court after the verdicts and struck by the French people's respect for the law and justice.

One of the perpetrators was freed as they'd served their time already. He left the court outside the front entrance. He was roundly booed. Had that been in the UK he'd have had his bollocks cut off for being so brazen.

Madame Pelicot; despite her trauma, along with a bit of luck, she fought for justice. Not just for her, but to protect her son's,daughter and grandkids. Along with encouraging more women to speak up in France.

Just reading through the report on the BBC website. Of the 51 men, 50 were found guilty of aggravated rape and 1 was acquitted. I'll be honest and say I haven't followed the trial overly intently so there may be something obvious that led to his verdict but that just struck me as a bit odd.

It is absolutely beyond belief, and now his daughter is alledging things too.

It's just horrible.

Hard to take in what happened to this poor lady, it’s unbelievable what can happen to women by men who we share a life with. It’s a wake up call to all of us to better educate our sons and daughters so this can’t happen again.
I’ve said all that but I’m sure it’s still happening until men stop treating women as possessions, I hope she can come to terms with the mental trauma of it all bless her a tough road ahead for her

When you read the latest horror story, you wonder just how low sections of humanity can go. Then the next low comes along. I hope that lady can find some peace, and live out the rest of her days surrounded by people who care for her.

20 years doesn't seem like anything close to long enough. He's an older guy so will likely die in prison but what he did is shocking and outrageous.
