Back on topic for a minute, have there been any apologies this weekend so far? Haven't seen any but that penalty appeal for the scum looks pretty nailed on (but I've only seem pictures so await being corrected)

The handball ? No way was it a penalty. I'm not saying that as a Blue either, all this silly unnatural arms behind your back is making a mockery of football. The defender looked to block the shot, it was the natural position for his arm to be in.

the problem with all these decisions is that there is a whole machine there to back up the referees, take that penalty that got given to liverpool yesterday, thats never a penalty in a million years, but every pundit, motd etc says well i can see why theyve give it, there may have been slight contact etc etc and until that machine stops justifying crap refereeing it will continue

OK, as I say haven't seen it and stills can be misleading, the one I saw appeared to show the defenders arm up and away from his body, seen many of those given, so looked a good shout

They know that the no penalty v wolves was a bit obvious ,i had an inkling if there was a decision yesterday it wouldn't go united's way, hey presto they didn't give united what looked like a definite penalty( according to the poxy rules at the moment) , now whatever you say ,for or against united that shows they are talking about decisions before matches imo or are being influenced , and that is a big worry.

Var actually works, (i don't like it mind you) what does not work is the mystery surrounding the decisions , we need to hear why a decision is or isn't given , ok they apologised, but nowadays every fucker is apologising about something or other ,as if that make things better , but i don't need an apology ,i need a reason , im sure the wolves manager would prefer an explanation rather than a weak half hearted apology

until they start giving explanations , then as far as im concerned things are being manipulated

until the audio between var and the ref is made public there will always be suspicion that everything isnt on the up and up

it works in rugby, very clearly, the ref asks for such and such to be looked at, i think they show it on the screen whist they review it, an explanation is given, end of, one of the reasons we see disrespect to refs more in football than rugby is the players in football know somethings aren't what they should be, players and managers know the game and they know when they are being had over, why wouldn't the wolves manager kick off about that decision ,its his livelihood and reputation on the line, but to rub it in he gets a card and most probably a fine, imagine reacting at work to an unfair and imo very dodgy decision ,getting disciplined and having your wages docked.

I didn't think it was a penalty either although to complicate things, it would have been a certain penalty in a European game.

By todays standards of applying the daft handball rules, that should have been given.
If that handball has happened against us, I'd be shouting for it,along with the vast majority.
The ridiculous inconsistencies are at the root of the distrust.
