We play with wideman and strikers who cut in from the flanks. We need a pitch of that width to be able to do it. Johnson does it well, Bellamy and Tevez too. The only one who fails to do so is SWP and thats because he isn't good enough.

Tradition maine rd was a big pitch too, when we play on a smaller pitch like stoke we're worse, we play with wingers who need space. If the full back gets turned then he has to get his ass back in.

I dont know the exact criteria but i know that a pitch has to fall into some perimeter in length and width. Everton have the slimest pitch in the prem apparently

No, Stoke's is narrowest so they can make use of their single way to score.

I actually wish the pitch was a big as it used to be before Hughes had it made smaller at the beginning of the season. As a bigger pitch suits our small highly technical players that prefer to pass the ball on the ground and use there pace to run into the big open spaces.

Wider pitches stretch defences. Good idea if you have decent attackers.
