Just think where we could be with a half decent manager in this season where there is so little quality in the Prem. Manure on top and they have a poor team this season.

We've got a "half decent manager" - his name is Mark Hughes.

Beaten just once all season, once at home in a year, couple of points off top four, semi's of the cup.

Half decent is not good enough

good result under the circumstances with the offside looking goal and bellamy sending off debacle but i still stick to my guns and would rather we got rid of hughes and have said so since the west brom result about this time last season, negative tactics going into a game against 2nd from bottom shit off the back of 2 great results in the week. rob should've started today, and as fer all you twats goin on about 'where is the 60 mill defence come from' give the lad a break i make it 48 mill, given 8 mill, toure 16mill, lescott 24 mill, richards and silvinho 0 mill. the whole bolton team probably cost what we paid fer lescott alone so it's understandable why people are fucked off that even before the bellamy sending off we went behind 3 fuckin times against a struggling shit team. draws against fulham, hull, birmingham, wigan, burnley and bolton just simply isn't good enough for me after spending the amount of money hughes has spent.

Totally agree. All the Hughes inners go on about when we beat Fulham, Burnley, Bolton ..insert poor team here... But the point is we don't and haven't since Hughes arrived here.

Im not calling for Hughes out simply because we are still in with a shout of where we want to be, but don't kid youself...it's not because of how well we are playing...it's because everyone else around us is f*cking it up to.

Perhaps...just perhaps... the league isn't as easy as people are making out?

Re: Any Hughes inners left after that?

FFS get real people, our defence was better under SP, although that MIGHT have somethinbg to do with the fact that we had no forwards and no money to buy forwards so we HAD to defend well and concentrate almost solely on defending (Hence our lowest ever goals at home total).
Today for the second time this season we have got a point when down to 10 men after dubious (at best) sending off's.
Today for the second time this season we have shown the spirit and conviction to come from behind on three occassions.
Today the game plan and tactics were thrown out after SWP was kicked out of the game, but we still got something out of a game against a side we always struggle against.
Ok then count me in with the support the manager crowd.

How many have Spurs won in the last 8 games against shit teams? How many have we won? Say what you like with all this bollocks about "hurrr we've only lost once" but the fact is that Liverpool, Villa, Tottenham are fucking it up and we have a great chance to pull away at this stage and we're fucking ourselves over with these god awful performances. It's not just the fact that we're playing really badly collectively through matches and maybe turning up for 10 or 20 minutes a game it's added on to the fact that we're wasting the opportunity the other teams are handing to us to climb back up the table after this so called "two month blip". Chelsea result should have spurred the lads on today and should have been drilled into them all week against quite frankly an awful Bolton side who have been rubbish all season, but we've blown the fucking chance again with a quality 20 minute performance in a 90 minute game.

First things first, I hate people that put words in other peoples mouths! I said nothing about 'hurr we've only lost once'. I didn't say we are playing brilliantly, and I didn't say there aren't problems. But if you can't see there hasn't been progress in areas then you aren't looking very hard. There has unfortunately with it been areas like our defense that have gone backwards. I don't agree that we are only playing for 10 or 20 minutes good and the rest s**t. For at least half of todays game we were comfortably the better team. Against Chelsea for large parts of it we were the better team. Away to Liverpool we were the better team for a majority of the game. Some people just simply like you look for solely the worst out of everything, and I'm sure there are people on here that will be unhappy even the day that we win something.

Sure today wasn't a great performance far from it, but days like that happen in football. If you haven't noticed (And obviously you haven't as your too busy saying how permanently awful we are) that this league is full of upsets this season. It is very close across the board, and lots of teams are dropping lots of points they shouldn't be. Granted, as you say in most seasons the points we have dropped recently would have left us out of the running for the top 4 comfortably, but this season it hasn't. You can't play football on averages or in history- you playing it during the present season, and we are right in the mix to be top 4 if we can start doing a bit better and picking up 3 points where we should be like today.

Re: Any Hughes inners left after that?

I think, in reply to the OP, yes, there still are plenty of Hughes inners left, and that today was a mixed bag, either a shamefully chaotic mess, or a battling display of never say die spirit, depending on your point of view.

this debate will run and run.

Obviously not, but come on..shouldn't we be doing a bit better ? A team like Birmingham are 2 points behind us and have won more. Is that what 200mil gets you these days ?? If so then I guess we shouldn't get carried away and be happy with anywhere in top 6.
