10 fire stations in London to close due to cut backs

There is a pot of money it isn't bottomless and people seem to think paying for the benefits is the most important duty of the government and for filling that may have brought about this decision.

We cannot keep paying for a ever increasing DWP budget unless some else gives

Obviously on a personal level I have never used the services of the London Fire brigade and probably never will
I suggest the new governement engages your inestimable services and sends you round to anyone whose house burnt down because the fire engine wasn't available or who lost a relative because the nearest ambulance stations have been shut and there weren't enough crews to get to their emergency. I'm sure your little homily will be a great consolation to them.

Because they are always right and know what's best for everyone else. and those who voted Tory are either super-rich toffs or are so gullible that they've been convinced to vote Tory only because of the right-wing bias in our media.

They really are bad losers. Their cloying sense of outrage and self-righteousness makes them unable to reflect honestly on how badly they handled the campaign. Mandelson got it right by pointing out that Labour spent their whole time being the champions of the very poor, hating the very rich, and forgetting to mention everyone in-between, i.e. the vast majority of us.

so dramatic these anti Tory types!

Well, if you want honesty, some of us really do hate you.

Most of the Tories I've met are self centred smug f***ers, happy to throw some of the most vulnerable people in our society under the bus, as long as they're okay.

So when will the Government be able to pay off the Trillion plus Pounds of debt?

Well, I'm not about to build you a cash flow model, feel free to do that analysis yourself.

However, UK debt is what, 90% GDP. With provisions for pensions etc, (and if I remember correctly) its 3/4x levered.

Consider your own debt to income ratio for a second, if you have a mortgage how heavily levered are you?

Consider businesses, what do you think there leverage is? I can tell you, we're seeing 7/8/9 turns sometimes.

The debt is an issue if it isn't (as has happened historically) paid down periodically, or reduced over times of economic growth. Using it to pursue growth is not an issue, nor should it be. Not managing it is.

Survival of the fittest this life, none of us are going to change the world so might as well try and do what's best for yourself to have as good a life as possible.
