Gonna miss Pep obviously but Maresca won Chelski 100m with the Club World Cup which they hold for 4 years for great PR,and we were knocked out by a Saudi League outfit in a comp i haf high hopes for.I'm strangely ok with it, so far today at least. I think now it's done, helped by the wet lettuce of a performance in the second half yesterday, makes me realise we have to move forward. If pep himself is suggesting he's not the best person to get us results and trophies next season, then it's clear for us.
Maresca will have a 3 year deal. Realistically he'll have one year to win something and/or show we are strong contenders. If it's going wrong, results aren't coming and the team aren't pulling for him, then he'll be replaced. If not, then we'll be on course for success.
If, very speculatively, one year on from now we've struggled for top half and are all over the shop, I wouldn't discount pep returning if Enrique or Vinny aren't available. But I have trust that Enzo will work well for us. He got plaudits at Leicester and got a tune out of Chelsea, and look at how both of those basket cases have gone on without him!

Wow, you sparked some memories for me there. I was 9 then, too young to remember the league cup of 76 (I suspect you remember that?). What followed was 30 years of relegation, promotion, false hope, despair, Fergie’s United before we were back there to put things right. I think we can confidently say it won’t be like that!My feelings exactly and im genuinely excited again for whats to come.

The morning after losing the FA Cup final in 81 to Tottenham was the worst I've ever felt following City. It floored me as a 15 yr old and my world felt like it had come to an end.
Waking up this morning It felt strange that its now all over and it brought back memories of how that 15yr old boy felt. Im now 60 and Manchester City still have the ability to trespass on my emotions.
However this time I don't feel floored and the world hasn't come to an end and yes there is plenty of optimism and expectation for the future. We lost the cup in 81 and there was no winning it back. Yesterday and today we are saying goodbye to our greatest ever decade and manager and it hurts, but the future is still blue!

This is different, again Arsenal aside, the other sides are largely in disarray
3 or 4 very good additions on the pitch will see us compete again next season
