Anyone been following the transfer movements over the winter?
Rogers has left Sky and signed with Saxo. With Dowsett moving to Movistar too, there could be an awful lot of work for Stannard to get through next season.
Saxo have put together a really strong squad so the 'Sky Train' could be in for a real battle in the mountains.
Katusha haven't been granted a WT licence so where that will leave Rodriguez and Moreno I'm not sure.
Sky have signed Kiriyenka.
What will Rodriguez and Moreno do you reckon?
I don’t know mate. On the face of it the lack of a world tour licence may not be too much of an issue for them; Katusha is a big enough team that they could reasonably expect to be granted wild cards to most of the races they’d want to compete in anyway. The question though is why haven’t they been given a licence? I believe they topped the rankings last year and when people were discussing the teams in danger of missing out on a spot Katusha’s name never came into the reckoning at all, so you have to wonder is there some story as to why they’ve been omitted that could impact on the teams future? Watch this space I guess.
Good shout on Kiriyenka, I forgot about that one.
I can’t wait for the new season to get under way, I’ve never really followed the spring classics on the cobbles before, but watching Lombardia and Milan-Torino at the back end of last year has fired my interest in the one day races, I’m counting down the days already!
