Anyone else read Walsh on Wiggins in the Times today?; a good piece; there were certainly questions to be asked. He's stayed with them 3 times over the winter so I certainly hope/ expect there is more to come.

.

Not seen the piece but again a link or copy and paste would be nice lads :)

Would love to pal, but that pesky times paywall gets in the way. I'm sure there is a way around it, but i dont know it. Tbh, it was the main reason for buying the doorstop that is the sunday times this morning.

A lot of it revolved around the now familiar info:

- about his father, an amphetamine-fuelled pro rider, and the poor relationship he had with him;
- his attitude to doping ('How could I look my kids in the eye/ take them to school etc if they knew/found out I was a cheat);
- his plans for the summer (doing the Giro and the Tour, and not just doing the tour to make up the numbers),
- acknowledging there were 3 leaders in the team, that him and Froome arent pals but do have a professional respect, although wiggins still hasnt forgotten what happened that infamous day on the tour last year when Froome went up the road leaving his team leader behind only to be reminded of his responsibilities via his earpiece!

Interestingly Walsh painted him positively, saying he warmed to him the first 2 times they met, when there was no tape recorder, but he doesnt really comment either way on his responses re the doping questions, just prints what Wiggins said.

The most pointed bit was when Walsh asked him about why he came out and slated Floyd Landis at the time when landis blew the lid on Armstrong, suggesting he had no need to say any of that, and that at the very least he could have kept his own counsel on the matter. Looking back now, the comments Wiggins made dont do him any favours. Wiggins did offer an explanation of sorts, and said he basically regrets saying what he said back then.

Here's an interview with Walsh himself:

I was a bit disappointed with Romandie all told. Beautiful scenery though it should be said.

Excellent article thanks mate.
