All set for the off? Cav in Pink after stage one do we think?

Looking forward to it mate!! - Do you support a single rider or team, or you more interested in a competitive tour?

It would be great to see Cav in Pink on stage one and Wiggo win overall

With Cav winning stages and the points jersey too

In this instance a bit of both I think mate. First and foremost yes I want to see a competitive GC because ultimately that’s what makes the excitement in the race. I expect Wiggins to win it but hopefully in an entertaining way rather than time trial/defend.

Beyond that I have a big soft spot for Sami Sanchez so I’d really like to see him and his Euskatel boys do themselves justice. He’s getting to the end of his career now and I would imagine it will be very difficult for him to podium, but with his climbing and descending skills he still has the capability to animate the race and make it tricky for others, so hopefully he can arrive in good form.

Vini Fantini are becoming another fav of mine; great kit and plenty of aggressive riders who’ll be looking to get involved in their home race, especially Santanbroggio, so I’ll be cheering them on too.

Other than that I’d like to see the five Brits all go well; Taylor Phinney; and I’m also going to be keeping an eye on Movistar’s Inxausti who I have a feeling could surprise a few people.

Just hoping for good racing more than anything though. I’ve struggled to get into the Giro in the past so looking forward to giving it a good crack this time.

I'm not at the swansea game today unfortunately, so i'll have a live stream of the game on the laptop and then the giro on my tv - perfect afternoon as long as we batter swansea and the sky boys have a good day :)

That's my afternoon sorted as well just got to get rid of the misses

...and they're off. Cav at his explosive best there. He's not getting much support from his team so far this year, but when you can kick like that I guess it's not so important!

I'm going for BMC to take the TTT tomorrow.

Rally enjoyed todays stage. Super win for Paolini and Wiggo 2nd overall

The value of having bonus seconds available at the finish was there to be seen today, as without them I doubt that climb and descent would have been raced the way it was.
