So a little update then lads... Still think Nibali is nailed on for the Giro win?

Cav to take the red jersey?

Unless the weather intervenes it's hard to see past Nibali yeah.

It's been a strange tour in many ways. The GC battle has been a non event to a large extent, because right from the off everything has gone how Nibali would wish and he really hasn't looked in any trouble at all. At the same time though the individual stages, when looked at purely as one day races, have nearly all been great and packed with action. Credit to them that a race where so little of consequence is actually happening can still be very entertaining.

As for the Cav question I have no idea!

I agree pal, can't see past Nibali - How good does he look right now! - Nothing seems to stop him it would seem in current form, he doesn't look like he's being pushed at all and IMO it's in the bag barring a monumental fuck up!

Gonna stick my neck on the block here and say the points jersey is Cav's - And i'd like to see him win it too! :)

Curse you Nibbles!!!! It should have been Samu's, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAMU'S!!! *sobs uncontrollably*

Only a couple of questions left now:
- will Cav get the points jersey?
- will Sky's Uran get the 10 seconds he needs over the next 2 days to grab second place on the podium?

Tbh, my mind is drfiting towards the Tour already - is Nibali doing the tour as well - be interesting how he measure up against Froome, Contador etc

Also surprised to read Uran is in talks to be the top man next season at Cav's team - having a top GC contender on the team was the whole reason why Cav left sky in the first place wasnt it?

Shame tomorrows stage has been changed due to snow on the Stelvio and temps of -14 at the top

...and now it's been cancelled all together. It's a real pity that all the proper mountain stages have been impacted by the weather.

I wouldn't feel too sorry for Di Luca Rascal, his past is more dubious than most by all accounts.

....and look what we find this morning, he's reported to have tested positive for EPO again.

To be fair to the rest of the peleton I don’t think any of them should be measured by any of Di Luca’s actions, the guy is a law unto himself.

This is the fourth time he’s been caught cheating (different performance enhancers each time!). The first occasion he got off with it, but for the other two he received significant bans of, I think, 15 months and two years respectively.

You have to wonder though just how bright the guy is. He failed this out of competition test at the back end of April, just two days after he announced he’d signed with Vini Fantini to make his comeback from his last ban. Given his history he must have known that the minute he returned the testers would be all over him like a rash, so to get caught immediately shows either he’s really crap at doping or he is immeasurably thick.

I did like the statement from the Vini Fantini boss though, no beating around the bush or trying to be diplomatic there; called him a cretin and said he never wanted him on his team in the first place and that they only signed him because one of their major sponsors forced them too.

Inxausti’s tweet on the matter was even more succinct: 'F***off Di Luca!'
