The Pro Road Cycling Thread

Apols for stretching this thread (Don't have enough posts to start a new one..). Has anyone suggested City selling decent cycle jerseys in our club colours? I know its not everyone's cup of tea: but I'd happily wear one myself....

It's something we discussed in the Tour De France thread last year, would be a great thing for the club to get in the shop.

Tour of Ned Flanders today, should be good viewing! Basque Country looming tomorrow too :)

Anyone else follow this guy on Twitter https://twitter.com/ukcyclingexpert, I think he's very funny!

Enjoyed Flanders today. Superb race and good coverage from Sky. I do like Maggie as well

And yes im a team Sky fanboy. Sky blue on the kit, British and based in Manchester.

Didn't get a chance to watch the race today, but heard it's a cracker so I'll catch up with it tomorrow.

Hopefully Paris Roubaix next weekend will be just as good.

Well worth a watch. I always considered Belguim to be pretty flat but some of the "hellingen" climbs are insane.

Gutted Paris Roubaix clashes with our big game next week,.

Looks like Kennaugh has team Sky leadership for the vuelta pais el vasco.

Really great action today wasn't it. Felt so sorry for Greg Van Avermaet, just how many times can one man finish second! Pleased that G. got top 10, but who knows what he could achieve if he could just get through a days racing with crashing!! Have you seen Vansummeren's crash with the lady of latter years? It's a terrible incident, I can only hope she pulls through

Yep P-R is going to have to be Sky+'d next week, it's well and truly second fiddle that day.

First stage of Pais Vasco looks set up for GC action from the off, lovely stuff. Contador v Valverde I'd imagine, with maybe the odd Sanchez downhill raid thrown in through the week.

it was carnage never seen anything like it one guy came off 5 times ,the sixth time he was finally battered enough to give up
a woman was hurt, life threatening injuries , loads of cyclists in the gutter motionless , mental

Tour of Basque Country

Only managed to catch the last 15km, but what a display from Contador. He's looking so strong this year, looks like this years TdF is going to be a belter. Great to see my man Kwiatowski up there in third as well, dragging a select group behind him in the process.

Just about to watch RVV from yesterday, hope it lives up to the hype!

Sky confirm Porte not riding the Giro, he will concentrate on the Tour instead.

Loved Pais Vasco today, that climb looked like it hurt. A TDF war is beginning to loom.

Flanders didn't' get any television this weekend here. I'm hoping some of the others will. Large races aside, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme nor reason for what Universal or BeIn decide to show. Sometimes I'll get a "new" event on the DVR and it will be a previously untelevised race from months before. Really odd when it has new commentary as if it were just raced.
