The Queen in Manchester today

I know the queen is getting on a bit, but if she asked you to...you know...give her one!
Would you?
I would without a moments hesitation!!!
That would be my party piece...get a £20 out and say "I've done her"..
Everyones a winner in my eyes!
I would however wince (after the event) whenever the national anthem was played...the bit where it says 'long to reign over her'...

but would you need the national anthem played so you could "stand to attention" for her?

I hope you are all standing up while reading this thread.

God Save The Queen!

I'm a tad surprised at your allegiance johnny, given the stance on royals marrying a Catholic.
Good to see that some discrimination has escaped the equality net.
Unless you were being ironic...
the power of the monarch is the power she denies - look what you get when the regalities are dispensed with!

When the French and the Germans are kissing each other you know things are going to be very bad.

I been working for 26 years so I want my £30 odd quid back please. I don't see why I should have to pay anything to this fabulously rich family.

I have some sympathy for people that don't agree with having a monarchy in principle, but I honestly think if anyone takes the time to find out a bit about what the Queen does on a day to day basis, and has done consistently for a long time you would not resent her so much.
The royals live in a big media/pr prison - admittedly a pretty plush one, but one thing they really don't have is the freedom to live normally, which includes the freedom to be skint, but also the freedom to pop out down the local / shops and be left alone.

I'm a republican but I don't resent the way she does her job, I resent the way she got it.

Yes, I heard one of them say that in an interview too, can't think which one as I can hardly distinguish the cunts from background noise at the best of times..

-- Fri Mar 23, 2012 8:15 pm --

She is visiting the Manchester Royal Infirmary for 36 minutes this morning and it will cost over £200,000.

Brilliant

Just remind me how much the Royal Family bring in tourism to this country each year?

How about you tell us, with a (reputable) source if you will.
