The Rise of Napoli

Rafa's reputation took a hit when he spent a small fortune turning Liverpools squad from thr 3rd or 4th best in the league to the 6th or 7th. I know he is revered there, and fair enough for his early achievements. But he really did leave them in a mess.

I think Napoli will really press to go as far in CL as possible, meanign they wont win Serie A.

Odds are Juventus wins it again, and Napoli will finish 2 or 3.

The $ and prestige alone from the CL will give Napoli more $ to spend, and draw top end players to want to play there.

Ive never doubted that they'd top their CL group - their game v Dortmund solidified it for me. Really looking forward to their clashes v Arsenal

I have a feeling Napoli could top their group, but don't judge Dortmund primarily from that game.

Dortmund had ten men and the manager sent to the stands for 45 mins of that game, plus I don't think many teams in world football will come away with maximum points from the Stadio San Paolo with the atomosphere and hostillity the home fans generate.

Napoli are my underdogs for this seasons CL, but Dortmund are still one of my favourites to reach the final.

The only question you have to ask about Dortmund is if they have the hunger they had last season to try and go all the way again, the teams who win the CL or at least make the semi-finals/ final are for me usually the ones who want it the most.

Chelsea won it the other year through out and out determination.... with a little luck of course, but every team needs luck along the way.

This is what I ask of City in the CL, in my opinion we have a team that could potentially go all the way, but I question their hunger to do it, hopefully Pellegrini can work his magic and get everyone motivated.

Ever since we played them in the Champions League they have become my Italian side, hopefully I can get over to Naples to watch some league games.

The atmosphere they generate is just something else, I especially love how they sing along to the Champions League anthem.

I said at the start of the season that Napoli are my pick to be this years underdogs for the CL, maybe it's a bit too early to call it as they still have a very tough CL group to get out of, but I tell you what though, it would not suprise me if they won every home game in that group, if they do that they will only need a draw away from home to get ten points which is usualy the target that sees you qualify.

Who knows, they may even top the group.

Could they be the team to knock Juventus off the top in Italy this season as well?? Either way, Napoli have a bright future ahead of them.

Exactly the same for me. Mazarri's insane 3-4-3 grabbed me from the first minute and Hamsik Cavani Lavezzi was irresistible. Now there's Insigne (what a player he's gonna be).

Would love to have them back at the Etihad. Definitely my favourite foreign team, was a great game against Dortmund to watch.

Also possibly the best badge in football.

1-0 up already against Milan. Napoli look like they're on a different level to Milan.
