So the cause of people turning right wing is because a private landord bought a property and has converted it into a 6 bed HMO because they "MAY" house immigrants - It could be for any other type of people other than immigrants -There is a house close to where i live, a 3 bed semi in a block if 6 houses, one of these houses was recently sold to a builder who is now converting it into a 6 bed HMO, the main concern being that they may use this property to house migrants.
The owner of the attached property and the others closeby are obviously very concerned about who may be put in there and also their house values should they decide to leave, it cant be right that this is allowed.
No wonder people are becoming more right wing, the government dont give a fuck about us anymore.

You can object if there's a planning application, e.g. if the house is being extended, but HMOs (or bedsits as we used to call them) for up to 6 non-related individuals don't need consent, they are permitted development. Well i hope you all filed an objection to this with your local council with appropriate reasons and had discussions with your local councillor.
We had 3 applications recently near us - 2 were objected by the council - following lots of negative feedback from the local communities.
You can't do much about private landlords buying property on the market, but you can object to planning applications for HMO
