The Rolling Stone Magazine 500 Greatest Songs. Pick your fav

Better than Dylans is;

Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks
God Only Knows - Beach Boys
A Day In The Life - Beatles
Redemption Song - Bob Marley
The Green Manalishi - Fleetwood Mac
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
Hotel California - Eagles

all in my humble opinion of course

Bohemian Rhapsody at 163, behind the old skinhead O'conner, what a load of crap

Funny though cant see any X-factor Winners in the list, wierd heh. Though Garath Bates (think thats his name, cant remember lol) would have been up there if he did a version of Bowies Song Changes, as with his stutter would be a perfect rendition of Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes Now, Ch-Ch-Changes

146 - Rock Lobster , The B52's....

Whaaaaatt !!!!???....

It's not the only one!

It is a list written by a bunch yank rock music jurnos so you can imagine they had difficulty extracting themselves from their own arses long enough to put pen to paper.

Some top tunes there..but without looking at it in too much detail, it looks like there are easily less than 10 songs on that list that were recorded in the past 15 years!

Or each others arses ....;¬)

lts an interesting list and gave me the urge to dig a few chunes out that l hadn't listened to for a while.

Awful, awful list.

The Smiths and Neil Young took forever to make an appearance.

The Clash tracks all in the wrong order.

Big fan of Rod's but " Do ya think I'm Sexy??" Absolute shocker of a song.

No solo tracks by Weller or Morrisey. No Green Day

Good shout for " Personality Crisis" by the New York Dolls though and nice to see Elvis Costello, The Ramones and the Cure get a little recognition amongst all that Middle of the Road 60s and 70s American stuff.

The list is terrible, Layla above Waterloo Sunset, Light My Fire and Bridge over Troubled Water is just ridiculous. The Boxer and Mr Tambourine Man not making the top 100 is criminal, and Should I Stay or Should I Go should not be above anything on London Calling or The Clash. (In my opinion ofcourse)

It just looks like they've bought a "Best Of" for influential artists and gone off that. Single songs are pretty pointless anyway, most decent artists make albums, if not, it's just manufactured, which isn't proper music.
