I think statistics weigh far more heavily than people think. A lot of credence is given to unfounded opinion which is unfair on raw facts.

Yes, I agree a lot of facts can be misleading, but it's not singular facts we're looking for, but rather a cumulative set of mutually supporting evidence suggesting a logical correlation.
