The Scottish Politics thread

I don’t know what was in her mind. Perhaps an evidence based prosecution might give us clarity.

That goes without saying, and is primary to a side point, of whether or not you or I believe what she publicly had to say about it. Not that it makes much difference.

If the worst she and others are guilty of is not ring fencing funds donated by members then you know what. Big fucking deal. If someone is guilty of misappropriation of funds to enrich their lifestyle then that is another kettle of fish.
We will know more by what charges, if any, are levied.

I do contrast the treatment of her and Johnson by the 'establishment and most of the media' and shake my head in bewilderment at the pile on from scots blues who should know better than be lead by the right wing press and understand how easy reputations are tarnished by mud flinging.

Lets see what happens. If they are guilty of criminal activity then they should be punished within the bounds of the law.

This situation reminds me of our beloved club. A clear and orchestrated attempt to destroy credibility and alter the political landscape in Scotland. Meanwhile in Westminster…. 20 odd year year olds who might have worked for Johnson enter the House of Lords.
Maybe, like City rather than destroy the political landscape, it will galvanise you.
Harden your resolve.
Sadds for Prez.
Go on.
You know you want to.
This is your season. It’s all there for the taking.

Does she get a hard time from the press though? Seriously?

I really don’t think that she does. Quite the contrary in fact.

There seems to me to be something a bit strange about the way this investigation is being managed. If you think there has been some sort of conspiracy then surely you get all the “suspects” in at once to interview them. Is It necessary to arrest people to interview them under caution? Didn’t the phrase used to be “helping police with their enquiries”?

the whole thing stinks to high heaven from a number of different angles.

It would seem earlier comparisons of the sturgeon regime to the Ceaucescu one were apt....
Care to list the comparisons?

Did he introduce:

1. Free Tuition for University Students.
2. Care For All extending free personal and nursing care to everyone who needs it, regardless of age.
3. The Baby Box. every baby born in Scotland gets the Baby Box for free, filled with essential items needed in the first six months of a child’s life.
4 1,140 hours of free, high-quality childcare. All eligible children now benefit from at least 1,140 hours of funded early learning and childcare, saving families around £4,500 per child per year
5. New social security system, delivering 13 benefits. After the limited devolution of welfare powers, the new social security system based on dignity and respect, treating social security as an investment in Scotland’s people.
6. The Scottish Child Payment. One of the new benefits, the only one of its kind in the UK, has been called “game-changing” by charities helps lift tens of thousands of children out of poverty. In 2022, we have increased it by 150% from £10 to £25 per week per child.
7. Free prescriptions. NHS prescription charges abolished in Scotland
8. Delivered over 118,000 affordable homes across Scotland.
9. Free bus travel. Almost two million Scots enjoy free bus travel across the country, including over-60s, people with disabilities, and young people under the age of 22.
10. Lowest student loan debt in the UK. On top of free tuition, students are entitled to up to a minimum income guarantee of £7,750, benefit from low interest rates for student loan repayments, leaving their studies with the lowest average student loan debt in the UK. Learners with care experience are entitled to a non-repayable bursary of £8,100.
11.Free school meals for all children in P1-P5. We’re ensuring that no child goes hungry and helping family finances
12.Highest per-person number of GPs in the UK.Scotland has significantly more GPs per person than England and Wales

there are more but I’ll wait until you post the comparisons.
No. Maybe don’t. They sure as shit ain’t perfect but your comparison is ridiculous.
