The Scottish Politics thread

Well I could Google, but I am guessing what you mean by progressive policies is give aways which cost money? Is that what you mean? Give aways that are easy to pay for when your spending is subsidised by the UK. Hence the be careful what you wish for
I understand what I am wishing for and would be happy enough to pay for it. I hope enough of Scot’s will be similarly persuaded.
The policies of the Scottish government are paid for through the Barnett formulae which provides funding for every area of the Uk and from Revenue raised in Scotland. Btw the NW isn’t looking too clever.
The UK is subsidised by increases to national debt too. Are you against all give aways that are ‘subsidised’ or just those in Scotland?

You and I both know that no matter how you spin it, your popular progressive policies are subsidised by the UK as a whole, and that you would be worse off if you left. I guess I just wanted to remind you of that as its often forgotten by SNP politicians and supporters.

I personally think all UK expenditure should be fair without regional politically driven subsidies and while your still part of the UK, Scotland should be treated in this manner aswell. Anyway we have had this conversation previously. Have a good night.

Be careful what you wish for. Out of the frying pan and into the fire springs to mind. Lol

Can't quite work out what this particular frying pan is made of. But it seems to have retained so much latent shit that it is now hotter and more damaging than the fire.

I could have written that myself.

There is also a segment that vote SNP but don’t support independence. They just favour the more progressive policies that in the main the SNP have pushed rather that Tory lite Labour.

And then you have the layer of people like me, who don't vote snp, but are happy enough to have them in government and live in the society that elects them. Recognising what they offer, the line they tread, and that while they have their issues and things that aren't for us, there really is no other credible party I'd fancy our chances with.

Not because they are particularly good, just that they are the best of a shit bunch. Even maybe this version of them, which is the weakest and poorest it has been in decades.

I could be wrong and out of turn but I'd hazard a guess even @blueinsa who is their biggest critic, at least at times finds himself thinking something similar.

But I guess that's easy to do when it is all paid for directly and exclusively by posters in England, snore.

Hard truths.

First Minister cancels Independance speech as rumours grow he is about to resign.

Pretty clear his days are numbered and he either goes now or they vote no confidence in him.
