We lose a huge advantage giving away our "noisy" end. The club MUST stick them up in the 3rd tier...League games should always have away fans in the south stand as they are now imo.
health and safety comes before atmosphere im afraid

do you work for the hse per chance?

Back to the helps the players argument? Struggling at home aren't we? Won 23 out
of 25 and drawn the other 2.

well you don't believe it does then you clearly weren't at the hamburg game.

and have you never heard mancini say it helps, "eez very important" i heard him say. we've got a mint side and win a lot of games but motivation from the crowd does also help.
Might have blown your own argument for shifting the away fans by bringing up the Hamburg game fella.

bollocks, hamburg had the usual away section where league teams have (3,000 not 6,000). giving the rags the whole of our singing stand makes me sick.

Full respect to the lads in the south stand who sing their hearts out every game

But being truthful, from where I sit in East 204 the away fans have outsung our singing section most games this season.

All this shit about banter and the atmosphere improving if our singers are next to the away fans is bollocks. It might be fun for the few hundred or so blues who are as interested in abusing away fans as watching the game but in terms of the overall atmosphere it's surely better to have the whole south stand as one seething mass of blue singers.

If you're an opposition player it's undoubtedly beneficial to have your fans at pitch level giving you an oasis of support in an otherwise hostile environment so why don't the club bite the bullet, do whatever the police want to ensure safety and banish away fans to level 3.

like one saturday when we sang 'oh when the blues' for about 10 min did the rest of the east stand or stadium join in? no they didn't. why? i don't know but lay off the whole abusing away fans shit cos on saturday that never happened

like before when we beat them 2-1

1-6 away at cold trafford, our fans pushed into the corner, great performance.

but that doesn't mean a crowd behind you doesn't help, it's been said countless times by players/managers that an atmosphere behind you helps.

it's like being in the workplace and being motivated by a boss.

.......look i don't want to give them cunts anything never mind their own stand behind a goal at our home ground.

So if it's not about abusing/posturing at away fans then why do so many inhabitants of the singing section on here insist that atmosphere is directly related to the proximity of away fans when it so clearly isn't ?

birmingham, carling cup, quiet as f**k. 112,111,110,109 sang blue moon, they responded with 'you've only got one song' what happens next? every single one in these areas sang their hearts out to every city song we knew. away fans being next to us helps, like it or not. where do you sit by the way?

it isn't, i'm in 116 and would 100% rather sing "come on city" then "you've had your day out, now fuck off home".

we definitely need to get behind the boys more.
