The South Stand Tonight And The Drum

The atmosphere was the best ive heard for years.
loved the drum.
now we need a chanter !

this club has changed dramatically over the years.
new ground
new owners
new stratosphere
we have embraced the change. now . Can the apathy towards new european methods of creating an atmosphere change.
long may it continue
well done lads

No we don't need a flaming chanter, just like we have never needed a flaming chanter. Last weekend I was at a Spanish game which had a flaming drum and a flaming chanter and it killed any atmosphere..... like it always does. Forget the drum and the chanter and just open your gobs like we used to. Simple as that. European methods my arse.

Grenada against Eibar?
If it was, I watched it and it was a monotonous drone (like most continental "ultra" groups)

Today v Bournemouth it was OK at times. But it was louder v bmg with 24k less in the ground. The drum might fuck people off but it got a reaction. It will be used v Celtic and hopefully it will used right i. e not overpowering songs but keeping a tempo so that they spread round the ground and carry on for longer. It's OK saying just let people sing but they clearly don't. So it's the lesser of two evils. Do we use a drum sparingly or sit in silence every game. People are gonna have to weigh it up.

2nd half v Bournemouth was as good as BMG. Hopefully it will be like this every week now.

Thought today was good. Second half was very goood. Up there with BMGB. All the stadium singing. Different songs at the same time. Last 10minutes was quiet. Plenty going home early.

I'm in lower south stand where there are songs being started all the time and don't always catch on, but it seemed to me that it really got rocking when the songs started in level 3 and filtered down. I think if we can get the third tier making that sort of noise throughout the game then our atmosphere is going to get better and better.

south stand level 3 were great second half, the sound travels much better from up there
there was a big group in level 3 at bac joining in.....this then trans-ended to rest of stand......resulting in people who dont usually sing getting carried away with the atmosphere and joining in.
Simple for me this.......have 15 singers together in a row near front, middle and back of stands all in all levels of south stand and these people will cascade the sound

Can someone tell Paul Lake that sitting in his comfy seat underneath Level 1 roof is NOT where he's going to hear any atmosphere. And also that Pep is NOT going to be used to 'bouncing, raucous, atmospheres having spent a good deal of time at the Camp Nou.
I wish people eulogising on air about foreign atmospheres would see something other than a local derby's crowd highlights on Youtube.
