The Southampton Thread!

A team that is going to be a handful to deal with for many teams. If they are doing this in January, I will be a believer that they will be contending for a Europa League spot.

Seems like this happens every year when a team unexpectedly finds themselves in a great position, sadly they get found out sooner or later and come next season either the manager fooks off or one or two of there best players leave only for the team to struggle come next season. I'm hoping that it doesn't happen but you can go through history of the prem and find a Southampton every year.

But good luck to them. It happened to us under Sven.

I think they're gonna be better than that. I'm impressed with the manager he's got them organized (only conceded 4 goals this season) playing good passing football and scoring goals. If he continues to be backed financially they could do really well in the future.

Another team like Arsenal whose league position now should be seen in the context of the quality of opponents.
They have faced so far this season:
Sunderland: 20th in the table currently
Crystal Palace: 19th in the table currently
Norwich City: 18th
West Ham United: 16th
Fulham: 14th
WBA: 12th
Swansea: 11th
ManU: 8th
Liverpool: 2nd

Obviously going to tail off eventually, but they're doing fantastic so far. Obviously they haven't had the toughest start, but it's not easy to be that consistent against any PL teams. Doing wonders for my fantasy football defence.
