The Squad planning thread

Still can’t believe we don’t and probably won’t sign a right back
Not much options on the market. Although we would also love to sign a right-back, they are either not good enough to play for Manchester City or are unavailable/too expensive.

Vanderson is available for €50m?
Yes... Barça also considered Vanderson as a right-back target, but they gave up on him because he "didn't fit their needs." Now Milan are very interested in him.
It reminds me of Wesley — he looked great, but City felt he couldn't adapt to the first team, so he went to Roma. Maybe City and Barça share the same view.

"It is needed after last season, bringing in fresh legs and the new additions have done well. They have settled very quickly," he said.

"We can all see their quality from the Club World Cup and what they bring to the team. We have got a big squad at the moment but I think it is definitely needed. I'm looking forward to the season and linking up with players that I like to play with and enjoying it really."

After Rodri, KDB, Bernardo & Akanji, yet another senior player is saying they want a bigger squad, irrespective of Pep restating his preference for a smaller squad.

Opinion: Reading between the lines, it seems Baldy is at odds with many of his squad. If the ageing old guard won't leave, then they should be given reduced game time, as we transition to the new younger recruits.
