The Squad planning thread

Not a Celtic fan but have seen this guy a few times and he is doing the business for them. Benjamin Nygren.

Appreciate its in the SPL, but there have been a few come out of that league who made the grade down south.
 
Curious about those whose contracts expire in 2028 - Gvard, Doku, Nunes. Will they all be extended? And if so, would we expect to see that this summer? Will they sort incomings first? If we buy a starting RB, will Nunes be more likely to consider leaving? I think a lot of fans hope to see a more permanent Khusa/Guehi pairing, so if Gvardiol drops to a 3/4 choice CB is he or the team less likely to extend?

i think they will start working on that once Rodri is resolved

O'Reilly moving into midfield and extending Bernardo for a season would really alleviate the need to go after another midfielder besides Anderson as we'd also have Reijnders and Rico in reserve besides the two squads listed there. If the intention is to keep Gvardiol at CB, we may need to get a fullback who can cover both sides instead of a pure right back.

Have a weird feeling we could see Marmoush going along with Trafford, but there's still a few months left for any doubts over his future to fade.

City needs RB, LB, CB, 2 midfielders and right winger in the summer.

Savinho, Silva, Kovacić, Akanji, Lewis, Stones, Ake and for me Ait-Nouri to go.

Ait-Nouri was cheap, so we will recoup the money. He would flourish in back three system as a LB. He has no future here in the back 4. He simply can't defend.

Recoup the money, reinvest, sign strong, physical players who can also keep the ball well.

Surely all this depends on Rodri & Bernardo, neither has signed a new contract. If Rodri wants to go back to Spain this summer we can't stand in his way. Nico G, so far is not an adequate replacement for either.

Gonzalez is way ahead of what Rodri was at 23? You are comparing him to peak Rodri so maybe give him that chance to get there?

Posted in the other thread , but I was told by a Forest fan I work with that we like both and he wouldn't be surprised if we went for both if Forest go down. He's heard rumors when he's gone to see Forest about us still really liking Gibbs White.

will we sign DM if he would be behind Rodri and NicoG ?

Elliot is a slam dunk imho

Ait-Nouri will stay, if only he wants to get out, which i doubt

City board sees long term success in Savio


City will need to sort out Mfuni and Mukasa, who are having fabulous loans

Alleyne most likely will be loaned again

also needs to sort out Nypan
