The Squad planning thread

No way we don’t bring a DM in surely in January?

A few bluemooners have said in the summer we needed to get players in last summer while we were on top. I agreed, but now since we didn’t, I fear we may now miss out on the very top players that we might have got in the next couple of transfer windows.

As fans we can see this team is done and we need to make big personnel changes, not a tweak to the team but major surgery. I include a change in the coaching area too. If fans can see that top players may pass on City this summer.

Midfield needs a massive revamp. Rico, Gundo and Bernardo has consistently been dropping 4/10s or worse all season. Gundogan, Bernardo and Kev (sadly) probably all leaving next summer

Rico has been in bad form for the last month or 2. but he started the season superbly. No way has he been dropping 4/10s "all season"

A minimum of 2 players required in Jan preferably in midfield and at full back, maybe even someone in on loan to back up haaland. And then big a clear out and re-build is needed in the summer.

Squad has gone horrifically backwards in the last 18 months.

The 115 fiasco is doing its job. Txixi etc have clearly taken their eye off the day job ever since it emerged.
Complacency however began imo when we signed Grealish. An unnecessary signing ,a player that we didn't really need but others were after. A prelude to signing Nunes when we repeated the same mistake. Guardial probably the best signing as Haaland without better players around him is a luxury.

For a hierarchy that's obsessed with how the club is viewed from an optics point in terms of spending, sure hell will be an interesting summer window because we're now obviously forced to spend really big if we have any sort of ambition of remaining at the top.

How we got to this point over the last 2 years is just pure negligence from all involved, and Pep is at the very heart of this.
