AgreedI still can’t believe we got rid of Alvarez
But at least we won the net spend trophy.

This isn’t a video game. I’d bet good money we don’t sign any of those players.Club have to back Pep so obvious squad needs a serious refresh. Would start in Jan:
A.Robinson (Fulham)
Kolo Muani (PSG) Loan option to buy
Zubimendi (R.Sociedad)
Summer:
J.Frimpong (Leverkusen)
Bastoni (Inter)
Ezé (Crystal Palace)
Kvaratskhelia (Napoli)
Musiala (Bayern) - Kev replacement
New GK if Ederson doesn't book ideas up
Don't look at the Athletico highlights tonight.I still can’t believe we got rid of Alvarez
He’s bang average too, absolutely not where we should be shopping. Being the 4th best player for the 8th best team in the league shouldn’t be anywhere near our targets. With Paqueta it was his betting charges (which apparentely West Ham hid from us until the last minute) that stopped that from happening and we opted for Nunes.
January signings are a must can't be waiting till the summer again there have to be options out there who can improve the squad. City have had windows in the past where we've signed 4-5 class players who are capable of playing in Peps system it needs to happen again. This season feels like a repeat of the 2016-17, players over the hill getting stale the level has dropped massively, this isn't nip and tuck a massive rebuild is required. This isn’t a video game. I’d bet good money we don’t sign any of those players.
The problem we’ve had over the past 2 years is that the top class players that we were prepared to pay the big money for have either chosen to go elsewhere (Bellingham, Rice) or are unobtainable (Musiala, Wirtz).
Then the tier of players who we’d hope to develop into top class players by playing under pep (Bruno G, Paqueta) we are being quoted over £100mil for and won’t pay it.
I don’t see us doing any meaningful business in Jan, it’ll be work towards hopefully having an active summer, but even that will require us unearthing some gems as it’s hard to see who we can buy that will be good enough.
Merino £32mil. Right profile, age, got European experience. Would have been a useful stopgap at the very least. It’s unforgivable leaving Pep to face the mongrels in the press match after match because executives fucked up recruitment.
Every single fan knew a Rodri understudy was a must but no, they knew better.
