15 - NON HG
1 - CLUB
4 - HG
3 - B LIST
2 - UNREGISTERED

Some wiggle room if someone cant be shifted etc or Nunes/Akanji stay, seems a couple big like that though
Perfect.

B list for those 3.
They can't go on the B list.

From UEFA's site https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsl...gue-league-phase-squads-player-registration-/

What is List B?

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 2003 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA – or for a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. Players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.

Loving the optimism - still don't see Livramento happening, nothing in it for him or Newcastle so far as I can see (unless we're really happy to spend ridiculous money on a RB)
The out list is what most of us would contemplate - shame for Bernie but he's burnt out, go to Benfica on a cut price deal. Shame for Nunes but we need the spot. Akanji we've had value for money. Stones we can't rely on. Gundo hope he gets his dream move. That leaves McAtee who just hasn't grasped his chance, and Jack who I have no clue what's wrong with.
Nunes, Akanji and Jack might be tough sells for various reasons - but we'll see won't we

Newcastle might need to let Livramento go for PSR or whatever financial rule. Ait Nouri has one year left on his contract so his fee shouldn't be too high. If we can get him and Livramento for 100m-110m, I'm happy with it.

That’s easy. Bin the following. Echeverri doesn’t count methinks.
Oretga
Ederson
Akanji
Kova
Bernardo
Gundo

2 years on Ait Nouri (Wolves have a +1), Newcastle don't need to do much, just depends what they want in.

AitNouri i reckon no more than 35. (and/or McAtee, they like him alot)

thought you'd call me out for Lewis over Nunes. :)
Nah. If we get Livramento, we will sell Nunes. Lewis is club trained, smart as they come and only 20. Its highly unlikely he is going anywhere.

Love Nunes, but we are not gonna carry 3 RBs. And considering the constraints on foreign players, if we can flip a position without weakening it into homegrown, it will be dumb not to do so.

I just sense we wont get a RB.

More like 90 million for both

If Livramento doesn't come in and we're struggling to find a RB, van Ewijk has been quality for Coventry this season, relatively young and very very pacey... (overlaps)

I posted earlier, but I highly suspect Pep will prefer a back 4 with 1 wide fullback, with the other fullback staying back.

He seems to favour this for defensive stability, it also uses more of the players.

If we get Ait Nouri, as LB is more of a priority, thats more important since it lets Marmoush go inside left.

This means the RW can be a winger like Savio, Doku or Bobb, not requiring Nunes, instead Akanji or Khusanov can play RB but be in the back 3.

Other games we may see Nunes as the wide RB, and the winger on the left stays wide (Doku or Savio).

That's already 2 options for "the wide fullback", which is enough depth.

I just really like Vanderson and the double wide fullback system.

Lewis really is lucky being homegrown and association trained. The fall off from Nunes to him is already very high - the fall off from a potential Livramento to him would be even crazier

If Ait-Nouri and Livramento are the targets it seems to me that Livramento is basically the Walker replacement, in that he's pretty quick and can run all day, he's got amazing stamina.

Ait-Nouri can play either on the outside of a wide forward and be up and down the wing or be the full back Pep wants to take up a position in the centre of midfield, he's capable of either role.

I'd love both.

Livramento simply seems unrealistic.

In theory the 3 in the back with 1 attacking fullback makes sense. But in practice, it tends not to work well. Especially when we are not playing a team of similar talent.

We dominate the ball so much that all our players including the CBs are often in the opposition's half. In the end, better skilled players at all position, including at fullbacks is almost always the best option.

The FA Cup finals being a good example. The opposition almost always hits us on a counter, and since all our players generally tend to end up in the other half, ir really doesn't matter if we play 2 or 3 CB types.

The solution to me is just speed and technical ability. Another one of Nunes's talent is his recovery speed. If Nouri who's also quickish is added Nunes Gvardiol and Khusa. What wed have is 4 really quick defenders who can collectively slowdown fast breaks by other teams while the full backs significantly add to the offense where its most needed

And when we play real wingers like Savio and Doku we can use the inverted fullbacks ( Lewis/O'Reilly) or just invert Nunes and Nouri who are both technically capable of doing it.

One of our major concerns next season should be limiting Center Back touches on offense.

It was one of the key contributors to sluggish play this season.
