I'm not convinced our treble team beats the 18-19 team in a matchup!
I think the 18-19 team would win 7-2!
I think everyone remembers that team more fondly due to more legends and a more enterainiting style of play. But don't forget how ruthlessly effective the treble team was. To go and win the Prem, champions league and Fa Cup is the more impressive treble by far due to the competitiveness of all the competitions. Lets be honest PSG have played one proper comp this year.I'm not convinced our treble team beats the 18-19 team in a matchup!

Imagine bluemoon if we were after a Georgian from Serie A, an Ecuadorian centre back who'd never played for a top team, a kid from Rennes, some sporting Lisbon left back who can't defend and a Wolves reject.Hopefully pep, txiki and viana are watching psg tonight and seeing that youth, pace and energy are what we have been missing
I must say I find it a bit bizzare that after watching this PSG team play one incredibly convincing game albeit against Inter that everyone wants to just forget the performances of our most successful team, which put in an equally if not more impressive performance against real Madrid at home. This PSG team nearly got knocked out of the group stages and against Villa, and hardly wiped the floor with arsenal either

That city midfield of Kev, Gundo and Rodri though wouldn't let them even touch the ball- Madrid also played at break neck speeds and that didn't go well for them at the etihadIt would be a close run thing.

My point originally was that I don't think this proves that now everyone needs rapid wingers and fullbacks and that we need to massively change our style under pep and be super directI find it bizarre that you're worried about it.

I'm surmising that Inter fans may say that the PSG team were better on the day than the City team that beat Inter 2 years ago.
The only thing I am interested in is our squad getting back to the standard of our treble team and the current PSG team.

We didn't put 5 past inter and but for several superb saves from Eddy could have lost. The difference is how many hard games our lads had to play.
As it stands,we have been majorly undermined by our recruitment. Mendes, Neves and Hakimi (as Kyle's replacement), could have all been signed.

Sometimes, you just need the right bounce, time and luck. Similarly, the Liverpool team that won thos year isnt in the top 3 Pool teams of the last 10 years. Was just good timing. It happens.
I think our treble team may have suffocated this PSG. But this is not the PSG we beat. That team was far fat inferior.

That midfield is incredible, I’m so jealous of it. BUT, if we invest well, on top of Reijnders and Cherki and Costa already wrapped up, we could match it or go another level above with our defence being superior in future too.
