The Squad planning thread

Think the MGW and Livamento deals if we still pushing for them will go well into the end of the next transfer window! We get the three in now that's be a big improvement

I agree the cash is there but think Newcastle will demand even more than 80 mill which i couldnt see us doing
 
So we know definitely that Kevin, McAtee, Grealish and Walker are gone.
3 midfielders and a defender.
4 out. Although we have brought in Khusanov and Marmoush and González, and added Nico to the senior squad.
So it's arguable that the squad is the same size as the beginning of last season, if we loan out Reis, Etcheverri and Bah.

We look like we have got 3 lined up. If Pep wants a smaller squad we probably need to get rid of 6 as it stands at the moment, not including the players mentioned in the first sentence.
Proper job on for Hugo.
 
Assuming Reijnders, Cherki and Ait Nouri are definitely arriving what other players/positions do we need? Right back and anything else?

half of them i expect to gone and dont really see any of the wingers playing CM tbh.

I agree.

I think one of Gundo or Bernardo leaves.

Echeverri will 100% be a loan because he won't play next season if we get Cherki.

I have a feeling as well - and this may upset a few - but O'Reilly will be loaned out. If we get Ait Nouri at LB covered by Gvardiol who can play there, where does he play? He ain't getting into midfield with Reijnders, Gonzalez, Kovacic and Rodri there.

I think it might be Bobb tbh for similar reasons. NOR i can see playing backup LB as normal. Josko starts LCB

Sell Kovacic while he is still worth something as he will be dow the pecking order

He got surgery and is out for 3 months.
We got no choice than to loan certain players. I hope O’Reilly and Echeverri end up somewhere in the Prem. Same goes for a potential Reis loan. Bournemouth might lose their whole backline.

We’re building a squad.
The old guard will deffo leave since the club wants 10 players gone.
O Riley is the back up LB Gvardiol CAN play there but he’s a CB in every game now and we all know he’s running on E we have to manage his mins goin forward
Midfield has space because in the time where we play every 3 days. Rodri x Reinjders will be playing a lot. The back up pivot would be Nico G and O Riley. I’m not sure what mins Kova is getting since we also have the academy.
If we can only have 23 players I don’t see the point in keeping fodder

I really don’t see any excuse as to why the club doesn’t just pay the 80 mil so we can be done with the backline for the foreseeable future.
They were willing to spend 100+ on Wirtz.
We’re not buying any keepers.
3 players are coming for less than 130 mil
They better not be pocket pinching or half assing this rebuild

Choice of one of MGW or Livamento is 100% go for Livamento
