The Squad planning thread

Then we will be fighting for second or third again and have no chance in the champions league.
How can you throw the towel in a month before a ball has been kicked? I agree we do need a RB, but personally don't think it'll be the difference between the title or not.

It’ll be a major factor imo mate alongside how Rodri is going forward and if he can stay fit and anywhere close to his level?

From all accounts there will be "conversations" happening in a few weeks time regarding some players leaving. Assume it will centre around some of the older players in terms of their fitness and reliability? Personally I would like to see us offer Newcastle £170m (plus add ons) for both Isak and Livramento. We could also do with an experienced CB (assuming Stones and Ake leave).

I am getting the impression that we are confused and there is no agreement about who should go, who should stay, and how big the squad needs to be.
Pep has been used to a mate as DoF and now he has a new guy with different ideas. A CEO is needed to hold the ring, but we don’t have one officially. (Soriano is CEO of CFG but not of City)
Our good management is slipping away as the juggernaut of CFG grows.
Our chairman could help but he is also chair of CFG. We need a football board that meets in M/Cr with a chairman and CEO who are not embedded in CFG.
Perhaps @slbsn and @Prestwich_Blue could be on it!

Looking at the squad there are far too many bang average players. We need another David Silva from somewhere.

I certainly think we are short another creative player as well mate, we can’t be sure that Cherki is going to consistently be that guy?

There are still 22 non HG players they can not be more then 17 , we are not buying any more players . The planing is all about who are leaving.

only Perrone looks like he is leaving

the rest

The HG we have enough space. Phillips, Wilson-Esbrand , McAtee highly likely to go along with Grealish. That takes us to seven and for domestic competitions Lewis, Bobb and o’Reilly all under 21 takes us to 4. Non HG bigger issue. Can see Reis , Echeverri loaned out. If we get a right back (HG) can see Nunes sacrificed. Savinho and Khusanov I assume both under 21 so again can play domestically. Some tough decisions.
