With Cherki rotating in for Foden or Savio and Doku for Marmoush. Think we'd be wise to try Marmoush at 10 more at some point but don't think we will.

No way Saviniho should be starting in front of Cherki. Close to zero end product coupled with his playacting and lack of physicality puts him well behind him for me.

Cherki is our most exciting signing since Haaland, and brings the aggression, creativity and maverick qualities that we’ve lacked recently. He should start every game if fit.

Feel like marmoush, cherki and foden are all going to drift into the same exact spot, while haaland ducks behind two CBs heading to the back post.

They shouldn’t in theory. Marmoush occupies the left half space, Foden occupies the right half space (both ghost into the box) and Cherki has a free role

When does our pre-season starts?

1st game 9th August. I hope the players have a long rest away from football. Mentally not being off work can be so tiring. I actually don't think physically they play too much...twice a week for 90 minutes is fine...its the rest of the stuff like media nonsense & public appearances that mean they don't get to switch off. I don't include charity work in that as I think they enjoy that as it's giving something back.

This coming season will be the first for Vianas version of City, from tomorrow it will be interesting to see how many of the older players leave quickly and their spaces taken up by the next generation.

I certainly hope that will be the case. The transfer window has been opened for 1,5 months now, and we haven't managed to sell any of the older players yet. In fact, apparently it's not even clear who are we trying to sell. I hope this isn't true, and we have some sort of agreement with the likes of Gundo, some other 30+ players, because the current squad numbers aren't sustainable and are simply blocking the development of some of the younger players.

@tolmie's hairdoo mentioned that Pep was going to talk to the players would be made available at the end of last week so that would tie in with coming back tomorrow and getting things going? I think Viana may actually sell Ederson if the right offer comes in as well

The older players generally leave later in the window because the buying clubs don't want to pay their wages whilst there are no matches to be played.

Akanji has lost it. Stones to much injury. Dias to slow. Wont be a champions this season either with theese defenders.

Khushanov played ten games and we had to pay more if he played more hence he didn’t
Probably still learning the language as well he will get his chance - patience my friend
