The Squad planning thread

But why would Marinakis even countenance selling him ahead of the World Cup, an event at which Anderson could shine and see his value soar? Similarly, given how much you squeezed out of Newcastle for Elanga and Tottenham for Johnson, your valuation appears somewhat deflated. Are other Forest supporters resigned to him leaving for that amount?

We've had our fill of club owners stringing us along through summers, so if he is our priority, it could happen early. However, given that the squads will have departed and the World Cup started before the window even opens this summer, perhaps not.
Tottenham deserved screwing over the price of Johnson as along with Brentford tried to low ball us with initial only 25m bid because of PSR and we decided to take the hit in point deduction. Elanga was overpriced but most realistic Forest fans are happy if his fee is around the 80m figure is it would be a 60m profit on his book figure in terms of PSR. Nothing to stop City agreeing fee and carrying his medical out prior departing to WC and then just getting his signature on contract when in the states . Will be easy for City to arrange with them having members of the City group already in the states.

Perhaps. When you signed Anderson, there was reportedly no release clause or buy-back deal included in the deal, which isn't entirely unusual, of course, but there has also been talk of other clauses in the player's contract. Have you read anything about those, or is it pure fabrication?

I have not heard of any clauses in Anderson contract , on the previous page I have given an explanation over problems with clauses within contracts. Pointing out I think it might have been in the cases of Suarez and MGW where the alleged release clause price has been met but due to the players being under contract the players have a right to talk to other clubs but it does not mean that the selling club are under an obligation to accept the bid.

i would rather us go from bruno over tonali, be nice to replace bernardo with some experience coming in alongside anderson. his numbers are still great this season. could be a fernandinho sort of signing
I think this could be the move that we need to be contenders domestically and in Europe next season. Yes he is older than is ideal but would be the ideal replacement for Bernado and is used to the league. He would not be cheap but would hit the ground running and would be hungry for trophies. If we got three good years out of him that would be fine.

I'd expect hot summer for City

Out
Stones - confirmed by City
Bernardo - confirmed by City
Kovacic - has no place in squad anymore, also needs game time
Ake - has no place in squad anymore, also needs game time
Lewis - has no place in squad anymore, needs game time, probably will be loaned out tho
Alleyne - WIl be out on loan again

players who may leave
Rodri - Real are eyeing him hard
Trafford - needs game time, imho him leaving would be a costly mistake for us, i don't think Big Don will stay long term here, probably will be loaned out
Reijnders - from what i've have read, City will sell him if an offer is received, apparently Juventus and Newcastle are eyeing him
Marmoush - needs game time, I doubt he is happy with his current role, also Barcelona are eyeing him

+ Rumored Pep departure

In

Anderson - this imho is practically in the bag
i prefer additional CM - Maza
young right back - Read/Kayode or someone similar
probably few young players - Monga, Conceição, Eduardo Pape
DM if Rodri leaves - Tonali/ Wharton, Maybe Tchouameni if Real offer him as a part of Rodri deal
2nd if Trafford leaves - My ideal choice in this case would be David Soria from Getafe on a free, would be solid 2nd choice gk

Does feel like Nico G time at the club may be short, which im disappointed with but it happens. Also think the same can be said for Rico

I think the squad isn't far off, but quality additions are needed and replacing any of those who may leave (like Marmoush, Rodri etc.)

Is there a possibility that Reijnders (Very unlikely), Nico G, Kovacic and Silva (100% Certainty) all get moved on this summer?
If so, I’d be in the market for all three of Wharton, Anderson and Maza. Yes I’m greedy and will have a bad case of shiny new toy syndrome this summer

I wonder who?

Perhaps Marmoush… I know he is not a midfielder but he has been of interest to Atletico.

Could there be a chance Atletico would pay out big money for City to part with Rodri, the article says “maybe someone from midfield…..maybe someone who is supposedly going to (Real) Madrid.”

But would have Rodri sign a new deal and play as much as possible over him any day

Yep. Just wished we'd seen them together at some point, a midfield two of those would be the perfect foundation for the current front 4 - but then he won't displace Bernie nor will he start over Anderson if he came.

So makes sense that he's going but still a shame.

I wonder who?

what's was the point of that tweet ?

Spartak Krasnodar and Man City are set on negotiating this summer, about what ? I don't know

I could hazard a guess Marmoush or Nico.G

if we are monitoring anyone from Atletico, then most likely Barrios

I think you may have nailed the departure list. Agree that Reijnders would be the most likely to remain from that bunch. Then again, who exactly will our manager be next season? If it's not Pep, the entire scenario may be altered.
