The state of the gardens - another police incident

Manchester in time will become like London, stabbings daily and not a place for people to go at any time. This isn't the fault of the homeless or the poor but the planning of it and the no policing of it. Society has changed and if you take a long hard look at Manchester it now caters heavily for teenagers and youths.
Gone are the days when your Nana used to go to Lewis's for a pork pie and some cold meats. Just as an aside I was catching a bus outside Chorlton street bus station in the late morning, at the bus stop there were 2 spice zombies and across the road there was a woman with 3 kids in the back of her car handing out Amazon parcels to taxi drivers (maybe 4 customers she had), while this was going on you had a parking attendant walking round looking for victims, like parking a car in the wrong spot was the only actionable crime that was happening.

Used to be beautiful
True, in those day's people had respect, nowadays plebs would wreck it !

The gardens are fine.

Its the feral fucking wankers in society that dont give a fuck about anyone else but themselves that are the issue.

Police should have a zero tolerance policy and the law should deal with them properly so that those amongst us that obey they law and behave can go about our lives in peace.

I was walking through Accrington with my son who has just bought a flat there and on the way to Tesco to get some shopping for him we were asked for a cigarette 4 times by 4 different people. Society has changed bud and to get it back we have to make this a generational thing, but that isn't going to happen we're pretty much stuck with it.

There's no worse sight to me than that of homeless people, obviously a large majority mentally ill, living in cold, wet and dirty conditions with no-one to care for them.
Rich western countries should be ashamed of this. I read there were 400,000 sleeping rough in the UK.
Council's should provide hostels with doctors to treat these people, they need looking after and many of them need help with their addictions.
How bad will things have to get before the powers that be help these people.

People have been cadgin cigs since I was a child in the 80s tbf.

Not aimed at your post but in general this below.

I am seriously beging to beleve that is is true that as you get older you gain some rose tinted memory of the past, as I do it too about the scrotes hanging about outside houses, or in the park, but then remember I did the same at 15, except where these lads are smoking weed we were on the kestral super, poppers and lighter fluid( well I wasn't on the last one myself).

What has changed is while sat in the park of on a street community policing would be by and present regulararly and so you behaved yourself.

As for the gardens I worked on portland street in the hotels from 94-96 and was regualarary bothered on the walk back through the gardens after a shift, being mugged twice, once by knife point, on a weekend all the pricks going in and coming out of 21s would be seen fighting all the time.

It hasn't changed that area in over 25 years, just in the old sunken gardens you could hide better.

The police was next to useless and wouldn't enter the sunken bit at night, but would park up near the amusement arcade and chippy on the plaza and check the old young person.

The figures for actual rough sleepers vary wildly from 5000 for all of England to 8400 just in London, the big figure is homeless and those homeless figures can even include those living in temp council accommodation, there needs to be a cohesive joined up plan to get the number right and to pin point help at that number.

Ohh they've been cadging cigs I agree with that, but 4 in a 5 minute walk to the shop is overkill. One was a woman well dressed outside Tesco waiting for a taxi asking to "buy a cig".

Believe me when ashton old road had pubs you could get asked several times walking up from the railway all the way to the grey mare in the 90s

Anyway how backwards is accrington, why weren't they asking for spare vapes ;-)
