If the takeover hadn't happened, that team of 2008 would have carried on winning nothing, most likely the odd drop in division and our only success getting back to the PL.
The take over did happen though, and a rather huge amount of money has been pumped into the club to transform it from what it was, to what you see now - pretty much unrecognisable from the bottom up. So no, we wouldn't be where we are organically. Barnes, amongst some other shite he said, had it right earlier. If the game is to attract these billionaire owners and investment, you can't have it both ways.
Even Leicester’s ‘fairytale’ was only achieved following a billionaire takeover and some very dodgy financial chicanery to get them promoted in the first place
