I know the point you are making but if those clubs were confident of making the cut year after year in the future they wouldn't need to tie themselves to a closed shop competition with their golden handcuffs would they.Both in full on reverse mode but I do take your point. It doesn’t take away from mine. I was just making the point that it would potentially guarantee a place each season for clubs that haven’t made it into the “top European competition” for the last 15 years other than Leicester, once.
This is their reaction to the likes of City and PSG breaking that cosy cartel, change the rules so that its impossible for them to be usurped.
It's no more mature than the little kid who owns the ball taking it home crying when he is losing in a game of football on the local park.
