I can believe that. For City and Chelsea, as much as they maybe disagreed with this, the potential ramifications of not joining could be relatively catastrophic if it were to backfire. It's all well and good having principles but saying no to this could have destroyed years of hard work by both clubs.

I feel both clubs lost out to a power play here, in the same way UEFA are about to with all of this.

Perez, Agnelli, and the US owners we have to thank for this motion.

I think so. The Football Mafia made us an offer we couldn't refuse.

That's a totally different topic. There's no reason why we couldn't compete in that league with those teams.
Plenty of reasons: old boys get the most money already reported that Real gets the biggest slice.

55% of turnover you can spend, so this means Real can spend the most whilst having no debt also.

We have disadvantage in terms of prestige too + location. We cant compensate that by money like now

Been working all day, so not had chance to read too much of this thread. Not happy at all that City have committed to the ESL, it stinks of greed, money and unfortunately this is the way that football is going now.

It seems none of the clubs involved including City gives two shits about the fans in all this which is really sad. I personally can't see this going ahead with all the opposition, but it leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.
Dead in the water. Any football fan on that board would have known the depth of hostility this plan would create. It stinks. Stan Kroenke, Glazers, Soriano, Henry. These are financiers. They don't understand football and our values.

There should have been someone on that executive who would get it and realise that this was not going to work.

City can rescue this situation in the next 48 hours if they have a will. It's clearly a play hatched by other clbs and we're invited because we will be English champions and it needs credibility but we have little need for this. Spurs and Man Utd and the Spanish clubs are is massive debt. This is not our fight.

Hoping we withdraw from this and make it known what's being going down. I can't believe City were central to all this planning and duplicity.

We wouldn't be invited if we were a mid table club, so that is s dead argument. We are invited because we've just spent our way to a decade of success, something our fans get very precious about when accused of it. Yet now, as a result of that success our owner, who spent that money, wants to push us forward we have a load of fans spitting their dummies out and crying foul.
THAT is hypocrisy.
Arsenal?

It was good to see on NWTonight on the BBC that it was rags and bin dippers owners getting most of the blame! The did interview Bernstein as well who is totally against it but we didn’t get slated.
Part of me wishes I could go back in time when he was chairman and re-live it all over again.

Explain Leicester then. Win the league, get into the CL. A few seasons later in the running for CL qualification. All that wiped out. Will they get a super duper league invite for finishing 3rd? Will they fuck.

They got there by buying cheap and selling high. Not really any point is there if all that hard work means no Euro prize.

Leicester had a Billionaire owner, still have.

I cant stand Klopp but at least he said its good Leicester and West Ham could be in the Champs league. He also said he didnt change his mind on super league.
You cant expect him to come out and commit professional suicide.
