As for being “sportsmen” playing “sport”, any of them ever played for a team that was promoted? Did they grow supporting the teams they play in as they were locals? Did they come through their team’s youth ranks?

But the seasons after in the division below are better as you're usually winning more games and scoring more goals than the season previous in a higher division. Promotion seasons are miles more enjoyable than relegation battles or mid table obscurity.
