No, but they weren't embarrassed when we could overtake clubs who, at that point, were bigger than us because we could go out and buy whoever we wanted, throwing money at it for fun to get us in a position where we could compete, and now dominate?

I'm not just saying this now because of this announcement, but I have always wondered if the investment was how it looked from the outside, or if there was a more long-term plan. I think this is that. The SL plan has been rumoured for ages. Do you think Sheikh Mansour would not have been looking into this for a long term plan for his investment? I do.

People can't be happy at someone coming in and doing what he has done, completely wiping out the competition for the majority of honours in the process, then say they are embarrassed when we join a competition for the clubs we have wanted to be - the giants of the game in other words. One leads from the other, and for me personally I think this is what the plan was all along. It is extremely hypocritical to be ok with the first part, but then not want the second part. Can you imagine what fans of other clubs would say if fans of our club start harping on about turning their back on the club, after a decade of feasting on the fruits of the Sheikh's investment?how can you say its

There is nothing wrong with having an owner who can provide a huge amount of money to boost a club to the next level providing there is a completion. Again I repeat the issue is that we are basically saying we are entitled bellends and now we have got to this level we should close the door to other teams who dream of having what happened to us, happen to them.

I read this morning that Sir Red Nose said he wasnt party to the decision. I thought he was a Director of United.

This decision must have been taken at Board level and must have been ratified by a Board vote.

I can only conclude 1. He’s lying or 2. He wasnt at the board meeting and they had a quorum sufficient to carry the vote.

It is entirely possible the owners only invited enough Directors to the meeting to form a quorum and didn’t invite those they thought would oppose the Vote.

I now expect he will do the honourable thing and resign. Btw, where’s his mate Bobby Charlton. Isn‘t he also a Director? He’s been very quiet.
Bobby's not a well man, think he's got dementia so doubt we'll see him again.

Btw anyone planning a new club to bring the real City back - which I understand given this debacle - remember NOT to call it anything to do with Maine Road.

The Americans are risking the soul of football do not involve a US State.

MaIne Road was renamed that in Victorian times after the state of Maine from the original name of Dog Kennel Lane.

Dog Kennel City!

This is the biggest obstacle to stopping it if the national associations and UEFA stand firm on banning clubs imo.

Imagine the first year in they invite Lazio, Lyon, Everton, Wolfsburg and Ajax to be the first of the 5 rotating teams and it's a scenario where all 5 clubs know that they might only have a year in the ESL but they'll get a lengthy ban from their domestic leagues and UEFA comps, say 10 years? None will join and they won't have their 20 teams. There's nothing to lose financially for the 15 permanent members but there's an awful lot to lose potentially for the 5 temporary ones, they'll be gambling with the very existence of their clubs.

They'd probably just recruit another 5 permanent clubs.

Interesting, didn't have a problem taking 350k a week from the yanks at Arsenal whilst they were languishing in the europa and out of the top 4. If he bothered to turn up once a week he might have got his dream of playing in the CL more often.

Easy PR for the likes of Ozil this nonsense, is he still in bed with Erdogan? so much for his morals.
