If this all crumbles now the government should still look into rules and reg for the English game to ensure that nothing like this can ever happen again.

I don't give a shit about the 3 red clubs and actually think if those 12 selfish clubs play in a separate competition then the rest of football might actually start getting a fair deal.

Occam's razor suggests to me that we were given very little time to decide, and figured we'd say yes, say very little, gauge the reaction, and then make a real decision. Awful position to be in but if I'm right the way we played it was really the only option. We could have said "no" but if this thing actually got off the ground we'd be shut out for good. Management are stewards of all three constituencies (fans, employees, investors).
perhaps Hanlon's Razor is more appropriate - Never ascribe to conspiracy that which can be adequately explained by stupidity

Its going to be even worse for us if we don't have some sort of agreement with UEFA. Surely they have made concessions to us that have satisfied what we want.
Imagine if Khaldoon ends up with a seat at UEFA after all this. I don’t know if it’s fanciful thinking but we could have got them all kicked out and then taken a position of power ourselves. I’m probably getting carried away and we simply made a monumental cock up, but who knows.

Irrespective of what happens, I’m genuinely bewildered by how out of touch all of the involved owners are with both their support base and employees.
Depends on the real intention. From the wording used - we hadn’t actually joined??
I think our owners are very much in touch & they always wanted revenge re the FFP CAS situation when PEL clubs wrote a letter to UEFA condemning us & UEFA tried to shaft us.

In all seriousness, there probably does need to be some form of punitive measures for all 6. It should not be regarded as finished, as it will just happen next year, or earlier otherwise.
I don’t disagree!

I think we’ve brought the sport into disrepute and we should be punished.

Are you telling me this wasn't run carefully past the Sheik and Khaldoon? No way on God's earth. No, let's not look for scapegoats.
City look poor, as they all do, and there's no getting round that. But the nightmare appears to be over. I'm cautious, until an official announcement is up on the website.
I think Soriano was the one attending the meetings. He was the one pushing for a 39th game abroad.

I don't doubt that he got the ok from Khaldoon but I think he needs to go. I personally think UEFA and the PL should ban all those responsible from football. Principally Agnelli, Perez, Woodward, Henry, and Kronke. These people are a disease to football.

We can't just pretend this didn't happen, because if we do, the same thing will happen in 2 years time.

Sky and the BBC were reporting about the JP Morgan money, and they knew all the clubs in October 2020.
