The three stars

in Italy a club has a star on his badge when it wins 10 leagues, two stars with 20 leagues, three stars with thirty leagues, etc. Only Juventus (27 scudetti) has won over 20 titles.

This was made (quite terribly) using MS paint.

Could someone with photoshopping skills make a more professional version using this as a template, just to see how it might look?

edit: Sorry, this might work.

Good stuff. Those two small changes make a big difference IMO.

I made three if you count the fact there's no stars! ;)

1st: lose the stars, mean nothing, and their aesthetic value is nought anyway.
2nd: drop the MCFC in the middle and replace it with "1894", the year Manchester City were formed.
3rd: Drop 'superbia in proelio' (proelia?) and simply put Manchester City FC in it's place.

Everything else has some connection to the crest, the club and the coat of arms.

When we changed the badge I remember reading that the 3 stars were added to give a "continental feel"
I have never been a lover of the current badge and a return to the more traditional one would suit me fine !

Been looking for a mug with this old crest on for years also

My Mrs got me one, it's a collage of old photographs, ticket stubs and stuff. The badge it's self is prominent but not that big. I think she got it from the club shop last Xmas, not sure if they are still available or exactly what you are looking for?

I am just looking for the which i had many moons ago with just a big crest on it and nothing else. I prefer my city stuff to be more conservative looking if you know what i mean.

Keep hoping that they will sell them again soon but not holding my breath.
Also i wish they would make them dishwasher safe!

Why don't you wash em yourself instead of the Mrs?

The new badge was a pathetic gimmick no doubt suggested by "marketing consultants" to "rebrand the club". Shame on the board at the time for doing it.

Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon are men of substance and class and if somebody at the club (Bernard Halford maybe) put the case to them to recall the old badge then I'm sure they'd act upon this after consulting fans.

Right, I'll probably get accused of being a Rag on a fishing trip here, but its a serious question!
Now i know that when our badge was re-designed back in the 90's, the three 'decorative stars' above were added to give the badge a more 'european feel', but in recent years stars above the badge has come to represent the number of times a club has been crowned european champions.
We're not the only club to have them for decorative reasons and some clubs who have won the european cup don't bother with them so i suppose its a matter of taste really!
Now if we continue to make progress at the rate we are at the moment then its not beyond possibility that we could actualy win the champs league ourselves in the not too distant future!
So here's my question, if we were to win it, what would we do with the stars above our badge?

Would we...
A, Remove two of them?
B, Add another above the three?
C, Leave it as it is?

Any thoughts?

In our case the 3 stars represents the 3 rivers within Manchester !!
I kid you not.

The three white lines inside the bottom but represent the rivers!!!
