I don't think they are. In fact, I'm sure they're not. I believe the descent takes a good few hours, then presumably they nose around for a couple of hours, then start the ascent, which takes another good few hours. That's it.
£250,000 for that.

Will the lack of oxygen make them pass out and have an unconscious death? Hope it's as painless as it can be what a shit way to go.
 
The only sub I've been on us the USS Drum, on display alongside the USS Alabama. Tiny thing in comparison to modern sub's. I have worked with quite a few qualified submariners through, and chatting to them some of the things portrayed on film are fairly accurate and other things are poetic licence at best.
Battlefield Park is a great place to visit
