We seemed to fall over the line last season towards the end of the season. Cancelo and Rodri falling out of favour seemed to disrupt the way of playing that had bat the rest of the league out of sight between December and March.
Yeah. Rodri form fell off a cliff but that was probably more to do with the players in front of him not working as hard due to them knowing the league was won. Complacency sets in.

538 gives us 83% chance to win the title, down from 88% before the weekend. 83% is still pretty good. We'd have been probably OK with being level with Liverpool now. We are 9, potentially 6 points clear which is great.

Liverpool looked very strong in the first 30 minutes today, but then got tired and were a bit lucky to win with the refereeing decisions going their way.

shipped 7 points to the Dippers against Palace and Southampton. 3 regulation wins against mid-table opposition and this would be over. Just complacency and laziness.

Or, perhaps, this is a difficult league in which almost every team can give anyone a game if they play well, in which no-one is entitled to three points, and that it's both of those things that make winning it such an achievement.

When we don't play to our level, we drop silly points that makes our lives more difficult than needs be.

1 meaningful game in 3 weeks prior to yesterday and it was an abysmal first half.

Will be 2 meaningful games in 5 and a half weeks by the time we get to Brentford at home. Basically been a winter break for our squad and it looked like we were mentally on the beach yesterday.

Sometimes a break can be more harmful to your match fitness/rhythm/mental state than regular games.

My point is that we're not entitled to any points. We played well, Southampton defended valiantly and scored a banger, that's football, we're doing good, we move. Let's not be one of those fanbases who throw a strop because the rest of the league isn't just bending over and letting us take three points every week because we're rich. They can play well, too. We normally play better, that's why we're top of the league. If it was a regular pattern, I'd be concerned too, but we've literally dropped two points in our last thirteen games. A couple of wins and we're back on track.
